Shocked that no one has made a thread for this yet. Well, here’s one lol!
Heaton was really good when Frankie lost her job selling cars. Well she lost it because she didn’t sell that many! LOL. Heaton and Sher really have deserved Emmy nominations for all previous seassons! Maybe more Sher than Heaton because she has a couple from ELR. I guess because of Modern Family The Middle can’t get any traction?
I think that the fact that Heaton was in a very low profile show that was quitely starting to become great, slowly getting enough ratings to make it almost a hit all on its own, without any help from other shows, and the media never paid that much attention to it, she got pushed down to the list of what is a hugely competitive category with way too many popular choices above her. She’s in a category that never seems to rest, each year more than one really strong contender shows up, this year we had three of them nominated, and four if you count Dern, plus the usual favorites. I don’t think she’ll ever get in,
Eden Sher has been deserving for every season, specially season 3, but I’m guessing it’s more of the same. On one hand it’s the little show that could and on the other hand is her age. Critics respond very well to her, but you never see the full support this show deserves. But she definitely needs to be considered, and Heaton too.
I have yet to laugh harder with anything during this new season than with Sue jumping onto that swing and of course falling flat on her face during the drive-in episode.
This show had the funniest premiere of any comedy I watched. Yes, funnier than Modern Family.
It’s insane no one else is watching this, especially if you’re watching other ABC comedies on Wednesday. I watched the entire Wednesday block last week and The Middle not only had the best episode, but the funniest scene when Sue ran over Axl’s foot and then panicked and couldn’t move!
There is not a more underrated show on TV right now.
It was insane seeing Jane Kaczmerek on here b/c of the comparisons to “Malcolm in the Middle”.
The best show on that lineup by far. It continues to amaze me how much emotions I run through when watching this show. I laugh and cry. The ensemble feels so connected and continues to give it their all week in and out. Glad that the people involved in the show are pleased w/being underrated.
