If you haven’t seen Casper Kelly’s brilliant parody of 70s/80s/90s theme songs that turns into something approaching absurdist genius, do yourself a favor and take a look- ‘Too Many Cooks’.
Edgar Wright and Rian Johnson have gone on twitter and praised it, with Johnson even suggesting that it should be submitted to the Short Film Oscar category.
Personally, ‘Too Many Cooks’ currently owns my life, telling me when to eat, when to sleep, when to shit, who to kill…
I just saw it, how weird that you made this topic
I LOVED it – one of the weirdest, most wonderful little things I’ve ever seen. Absolutely brilliant and I definitely think, much like Don Hertzfeldt’s Rejected, its a weird little movie that could break through at the Oscars.
I love it! I’m literally obsessed with it. It’s probably not healthy for my mental state the amount of times I’ve watched it. Hahaha. I wonder how that works though, the whole Oscar thing? It debuted on Adult Swim’s ‘Infomercials’ block, but can they submit it for Oscar consideration?
If David Lynch fell asleep watching Nick @ Nite, ‘Too Many Cooks’ would be his resulting dream.
My whole life led to this moment. Right now I feel like I’m high on Too Many Cooks, every bit of it is just pure brilliance.
Are people really serious about the Oscar talk? It’s just a theme song parody that never ends. It debuted on Adult Swim too. If anything you’re looking at a possible Special Class Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program nominee at the Emmys.
I’m surprised actual TV critics like Alan Sepinwall are obsessing over it so much.
Yeah I saw this. Amazing video.
Why is this good?
