Watch an episode of Z Nation and you’ll appreciate The Walking Dead a lot more.

I figured it was going to be bad, since it is on SyFy, where there is no quality.

Can’t wait for this season. Whoever is in charge of TWD’s social media campaign is doing a damn good job of hyping it up, too.

    Episode 1: No Sanctuary

Rick and the group find themselves in a vulnerable situation in the Season 5 opener.

This was one of the best episodes they’ve done to date. Never a dull moment. A

Regarding predictions, I was right that no recurring character would die, more than 10 walkers would die, and Daryl wouldn’t shoot his crossbow, but I was wrong on the rest (predicted Glenn to die).

Best episode since *SPOILER BUT WHY WOULD YOU BE READING THIS THREAD ANYWAYS* Hershall and the Govenor died. I was not a fan of part 2 of season 4 but this has revived hope

I feel the exact opposite way than you.  I thought season 4B was by far the best this show has ever been.  I mostly hated season 4A.  Hal of season 4A was nothing but a repeat of season 3B, especially the mid-season finale where the governor again attacks the prison.  I am not sure if that was an original story or taken from the comics, but it was boring, repetitive, and uninspired.

David Morse did a good job as the Governor, but his character really should have ended after season 3.  By the time he appeared in season 4 his storyline had already run its course.

I also find the parts where they stay in one place for several episodes boring.  Nowhere was this more true than most of season 2 on the farm and season 4A in the prison.  I want the group to survive and live, but watching them play house gets old fast.  The show is always at its best when they are on the run and fighting for survival.

I thought season 4B found the right balance between being a post apocalyptic zombie thriller and quiet meditation on survival in a post apocalyptic world.  That was never more obvious than in “The Grove” which may be my favorite episode they have ever done.  The show took a big risk in seperating everyone and then focusing on individual storylines (as opposed to the entire group) and it payed off for me big time.

At this point I do not remember most of what happened in season 4A and feel that storyline could have been told in 2 episodes.  Watching them play house and fight an invisible enemy, disease, was downright boring and kind of stupid.  Thankfully they will not be staying at Terminus this half season and they can continue to kick ass on the road.

I don’t mind when they set up camp somewhere. I thought this episode was stronger because everyone was back together, which is why I didn’t like 4B (but a friend of mine did). I don’t think some of the characters are strong enough on their own. The Grove worked because of Melissa McBride. Some of the Michonne stuff was fine. But the others didn’t engage me as much.

I thought this was a very strong episode though. Great job again by McBride.

    Aww. Beth cries.

Anybody watch Talking Dead last night? Conan O’Brien was one of the guests. A certain award statue would be his weapon of choice in the zombie apocalypse.

Remember the big deal that everyone made about the 3.8 rating in the key demographic that How to Get Away with Murder premiered to?  The Walking Dead got an 8.7 last night.

I couldn’t tell you one interesting moment from 4B with the exclusion of that whole Turn to the Roses crap. I like when they take a breath and focus on characters but not for an entire half of a season.
