In my opinion, one of the best shows ever. I can’t believe it has not been released in any format. Another case of music rights. You would think that the music studios/artists would be happy with their song being attached to a show of such high quality. It would surely sell well and would be like free promotion for their music.
This needs to get released.
What do you think of this show?
But since this is an Emmy fourm, was it category fraud when it won Best Comedy for a 6 episode season? 1st season of Seinfeld competed as a miniseries, that was a minescule 4 episode season.
never really liked that show.
I liked it, but I thought it was very uneven. And Winnie Cooper is the classic case of girl next door character that grows to become more and more annoying each season. But there were some interesting episodes, and it’s impressive how fully formed the show’s voice is right out of the pilot. I do find the cult and passion for it a bit too exaggerated though.
I agree with you, Carly. I would also consider it one of the best shows of all time, and it really is a shame that a DVD release hasn’t come into fruition.
So, I’ve been watching this online. Heaven. Sheer heaven. The music, the writing, the maturity, the comedy, the tragedy, the simple drama. This needs to be released on DVD. This definitely paved the way for shows like My So-Called Life and Part of Five.
I think I’m going to start posting reviews of the episodes as I make my way through the series. Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I just finished watching Coda (Se. 2 Ep. 7) and I have to say it’s a top favorite amongst favorites.
Kevin: When you are a little kid, you are a bit of
everything – artist, scientist, athlete, scholar. Sometimes, it seems
life is like a process of giving those things up, one by one. I guess we
all have one thing we regret giving up. One thing we really miss. And
we gave up because we were too lazy. We couldn’t stick it out. Or
because we were afraid.
I relate to Kevin’s struggles with the piano, and isn’t it apropos that the episode was written by Todd W. Langen? Maybe just serendipitous.
