The Creative Arts ceremony is in less than two weeks, and there has been no official announcement made about the juried awards (Variety Show Costumes; Individual Achievement in Animation; Interactive Media; Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking; and the new one, Motion Design, plus things like the Governor’s Award) yet.  This isn’t the first time they have waited until September – in 2011, they didn’t announce them until 9/7 – but they’re cutting it close.

It’s possible that the winners have been informed – a recent So You Think You Can Dance press release claimed that it won a Costume Design Emmy in 2015, although it could have been a mistake (since it won in 2014 as well) – and somebody decided not to announce them before the ceremony.  However, you would think that somebody who won would have mentioned it somewhere, and, except for that press release, I haven’t seen anything.

Then again, for all I know, they’re holding off because they’re still trying to figure out just what “motion control” is…

Well, one juried award (sort of) has been announced, with 9 days before the ceremony:

A&E Networks will receive the Governors Award

Now, if only A&E would bring back the complete Boston Pops Independence Day concert & fireworks, now that CBS no longer airs it…

It seems that the Academy briefly had the juried winners on its website, then took it down for some reason, but not before Google could cache it.
Update: there is now a link to the Emmy site with the annoucement
(but for some reason, I can’t add a link when editing an existing post, so here is the URL:)
    http://www.emmys.com/news/awards-news/juried-award-winners-announced-67th-emmy-awards

    Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation
Adventure Time (Tom Herpich, Storyboard Artist, “Walnuts & Rain”)
Gravity Falls (Alonso Ramirez Ramos, Storyboard Artist, “Not What He Seems”)
King Star King (JJ Villard, Character Design, “Fat Frank’s Fantasy Lounge”)
Over The Garden Wall (Nick Cross, Production Design)
Robot Chicken (Bradley Schaffer, Character Animation, “Robot Chicken’s Bitch Pudding Special”)
Tome of the Unknown (Nick Cross, Background Painter)
Tome of the Unknown (Chris Tsirgiotis, Background Layout Designer)

Outstanding Costumes For A Variety Program Or A Special
    Drunk History (“Hollywood”)
Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show Starring Katy Perry

    Outstanding Motion Design
How We Got To Now With Steven Johnson

Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media
    Multiplatform Storytelling
    Archer Scavenger Hunt
    The Singles Project

    Original Interactive Program
    Emma Approved
    AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience

    Social TV Experience
    @midnight With Chris Hardwick
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

    User Experience And Visual Design
    Sleepy Hollow Virtual Reality Experience

Assuming these are accurate, it looks like “Tome of the Unknown” is the early Emmy leader with two.  (Apparently, “Tome of the Unknown” is more or less the pilot for Over the Garden Wall.)
Also, that So You Think You Can Dance? press release mentioning its “Emmy-winning” costume designers must have been referring to the show’s 2014 win.

Is it all of them? Don’t they usually announce Guest categories a week before the Emmys? And Casting, too?
But they didn’t leak apparently. Very happy for Hardwick.

These are the “juried” awards – the ones that don’t have nominees; instead, a jury decides on each entry separately.

The Guest Acting and Casting awards are part of the Creative Arts Emmys, which will be announced on Saturday starting at 7 PM Eastern.  Usually, GoldDerby has a chat that includes somebody feeding the results as they happen; the results should also be available at emmys.com (and the “major” awards, like Guest Acting and Reality Host, should be available at cnn.com) once the ceremony ends (usually around 11:30 Eastern), and you might want to keep on eye on the Academy’s Twitter feed (@TelevisionAcad) to see if it posts any results as they happen.

Why is Variety Show Costumes a juried award? That definitely seems normal enough to just get its own category.

Does anyone know if Taylor personally wins an Emmy for AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience? If so, she would be halfway to an EGOT. A well placed song on a soundtrack away….

I’m assuming Katy doesn’t win one since her win was for costumes (plus I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have any Grammys lol).

Taylor Swift is technically halfway to an honorary EGOT because her Emmy win isn’t competitive.

I disagree – an “honorary” Emmy is something the Academy gives outside of the category system.  Swift’s win (and yes, she does get an Emmy for this) should count just as much as the ones they hand out on broadcast TV.  Or are you telling me that Pamela Adlon’s Emmy is also “honorary” because voiceover wasn’t “competitive” back then?

Hmmm I was under the impression that a juried award still counted as competitive instead of honorary since she is rewarded for a specific achievement and not just for her career? Either way, an Emmy is an Emmy in my book….

    It’s a competitive emmy LOL

Honorary awards are the ones that they don’t count.

I don’t see how it can be considered a competitive win when there were no other nominees, but okay technically not honorary. It’d be a juried EGOT. 😉

Nonetheless it’s not the same as a regular EGOT where you have to beat other nominees for the awards.

I saw a presentation about the virtual reality extension of Sleepy Hollow and that win is well deserved.

Archer fans, congratulations on the first Archer Emmy.

I really need to search How We Got to Know, so that I can learn what goes into awarding the new motion design Emmy.

Archer fans, congratulations on the first Archer Emmy.

Technically, it’s not for Archer (the show) itself, but for some online presence it has.
