    Stunning, beautiful episode.
It felt important but it wasn’t over the top in any way.
Mandy Moore big scene…wow. Keep the buzz alive because she needs an Emmy nomination right now.
And Justin Hartley, what a season.

The season started slowly but since #1 episode it delivered big and I totally support a win for best drama series
(crazy to think my drama series and comedy series picks at the moment are both on NBC).

To see Milo in next episode promo was a sort of relief.
Considering death is revealed, and that he can’t be in present scenes and future scenes..I’m worried about his future presence on this show.
I think after this season where a lead position still would be legitimate he needs to drop supporting.

    Great, special show.

    Finally caught up.

I’ll start with Clooney. Probably Ron Cephas Jone’s guest submission, even though it would be a joke. I laughed so hard when young Kevin dissed Jack for giving an inspirational speech because that’s exactly how I feel about this show. The dialogue was really bad at points. This was the first episode that I liked Kate in a long time.

That’ll be the day was decent. Why they gonna totally waste Lena Waithe like that? The apartment renovation scenes had me cringing. The episode itself was surprisingly really good though. The ending made me cry.

But damn. The Super Bowl episode. I was screaming at the TV and legit balling. I am officially on team Milo and Mandy. But if Sterling K Brown wins another award for this I’m going to role my eyes so fucking hard. His ego visibly grows every time he wins an award. Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia are the MVP’s of this season and I would be perfectly fine with them getting nominated. I am the chief underestimator of This is Us and even I am saying Moore can win. I will definitely predict her to get nominated. I was genuinely surprised by how good Moore was. The episode itself was pretty good but the first 10 minutes was much better than most of the rest.

Definitely need some time to digest this episode because it was truly heavy. But wow, in my opinion it is the episode of the entire series. Everything about it was perfectly done, from the writing, directing, editing and acting. First and foremost, Mandy Moore is just unbelievable. I mean, week in and week out I’ve considered her to be one of the strongest, if not the most, on the show but this episode she managed to take it to another level. She left me heartbroken. Secondly, Milo devastates me with just the look on his face. He’s brilliant and deserves to win more than Sterling for this season. With that said, I actually really like the twist at the end. I thought it was very well done and not forced at all. However, what I need not to happen is for Beth to not be the new Jack. That would feel forced. Amazing episode, I’ll be crying until next week!

Wow, what an incredible episode. I give the writers a lot of credit because in other hands, this show easily could have fizzled out after the first season, but they are still keeping this interesting.

I echo with most have said above regarding this being Moore’s year for the Emmy. Between this episode, the therapy episode, and the grocery store meltdown, she would really be a worthy winner over some of the repeat contenders.

Metz also impressed me alot, and this episode could help her in supporting.

Hartley was also impressive during his tree scene, but he’s stepped up his game overall all season long. Might even break into Supporting Actor.

Sterling always brings his game, but I would actually prefer if the Emmys rewarded Milo this season. He has SOOOO many great moments and he is most deserving of the cast this year imo.

Agree with all of this. I’d also like to add that Mandy has that hospital monologue at the end of the Halloween episode when she is both old and young Rebecca. She’s been doing stunning work this season and makes for a deserving winner. Also, couldn’t agree more about Milo. Reward him, please!

This is my first episode of This Is Us and Many Moore was indeed understated and excellent. I love seeing Justin Hartley doing well too!

Not sure why people are hating on Sterling K. Brown when there have been a TON of overpraised actors, who continue/continued to get accolades and love. I can’t say much about his ego though

Mandy Moore has been the MVP of this show since Day 1 but this episode could be her best work yet. Wow. Justin Hartley has also been surprisingly good this season, I remember him being quite bad last season. Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown’s characters are just so insufferable that I don’t even know if it’s them or just the writing of the characters but if Metz gets in over Moore I’m going to throw a fit.

Don’t think you’d be alone. The amount of praise and urge for awards recognition Moore has gotten on Twitter last night/today is pretty crazy.

Maybe they were too much praised during season one but I’m among the ones who can’t stand Brown and Metz this season.

Moore and Hartley should be in contention not only for nominations but for win too.

Venitmiglia and Kelechi Watson are also way more deserving.

I think I just don’t get Mandy Moore as an actress. I see that they’re giving her good material, I see that she’s doing all the right things in her scenes, I see she takes the craft seriously and is trying her best, but there’s something really missing for me with her performances that I’m not able to connect with her much even though I am sympathetic to Rebecca (I think it helps that Kate is such a monster to her as a teen and as an adult and that Randall loves her so much). Maybe it’s because a lot of the dialogue they give her with the direction she’s given makes her come off as smug and one-note to me when I don’t think that was her intention (I think she’s trying to go for strength). I think there’s a lot of surface-level acting on her part, but the fact that so many love her this season shows she’s obviously doing something right and she should keep doing what she’s doing.

This was a tough one. This is the first time that my mom, sister and I have watched an episode all together. So having lost my dad when I was 7, it was extremely hard, but Damn this show is so good.

The hospital monologue!!! I forgot! She has done such great work I forgot about that. She has a lot of episodes to choose from. That episode also was a masterclass in writing and also directing. The directors and editors deserve a lot of credit here too.
