THR Roundtables for COMEDY ACTRESS. Excellent panelist choices this year! They are as follows:

    Lena Dunham, Girls
    Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
    Kate McKinnon, Saturday Night Live
    Gina Rodriguez, Jane the Virgin
    Tracee Ellis Ross, Blackish
    Amy Schumer, Inside Amy Schumer

The link is provided below. The transcript is up now. Hopefully the full interview clip will be posted soon. It’s raunchy, so be warned lol.

They really had to put Lena Dunham on it.

I really, really, have absolutely nothing against Lena Dunham. Love her, love Girls. But yeah, I did look at the cover and thought “Again?”, “Still?”, “Her?”. They really can’t let her go.

I don’t know when the line-up will be announced, but my predictions would be:

    Taraji P Henson (Empire)
    Ruth Wilson (The Affair)
Uzo Aduba (Orange Is The New Black)
    Claire Danes (Homeland)
    Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)
    Caitriona Balfe (Outlander)

I feel like Dunham was the one contender who has been there before and been nominated before, and is looking for a boost, which they tend to usually have. I would have prefered Amy Poehler to fill that spot.

In the youtube descriptions it says that they apparantly don’t release the full video until August 16th!?!!? what is the point of that?? I feel it would be so awkward to watch at that point becuase obviously not all of them will be nominated!

Interesting mix, but great conversation! Even though her chances are deader than some of her teeth, Lena stole the interview with her responses and insight. I get why they had Tracee (the “d” word), but that show she’s on doesn’t do it for me. I am glad that she is having her moment though. Loved the “I’m just happy to be here” energy from both Kate and Gina. And what else can be said about Amy? Too bad that Ellie faded into the background, but there’s always one. The late release in in conjunction with the series that’s going to be on SundanceTV. I thought they had a TV deal with A&E? As for the one with the creatives, Miss Lee made the melanin deficient folks feel all kind of uncomfortable and I was here for it. Took me back to sitting in AFAM classes and soaking in the awkward vibes between the blacks and the whites. Did like Beau defending himself though. Can’t wait for the rest of these and I think you’re on the money with your drama ladies roundup predictions, AMG.

Oh, God. I would give sacrifices to the Gods themselves just so I can see 2 new actresses for a change.

As per twitter hints I’ve heard rumblings of: Viola Davis, Taraji P Henson, Ruth Wilson (twice though is suspicious?), Maggie Gyllenhal and Jessica Lange.

Probably a Mad Men actress in for 6th I imagine…

Love Lena Dunahm, so no hate from me. I’m dying to know who the sexist actor is that she’s talking about. I have ideas, of course, but nothing definitive yet. I was expecting a major contender like Julia Louis-Dreyfus or maybe Amy Poehler on here, but the six they chose were excellent! Love that Amy Schumer is here to play ball this Emmy cycle!

Would love to see more unusual contenders like Eva Green, Vera Farmiga or Keri Russell. Gilian Anderson would be a great choice too.

^^^ Vera Farmiga and Keri Russell were in the roundtable last year too. As were Danes & Margulies (Jessica Parre & Sarah Paulson joined them).
