TV Academy Unveils Key Art For 67th Emmy Awards

    By Denise Petski    June 3, 2015 12:28pm

“This year’s imagery represents the most dramatic departure for Emmy Awards key art in Academy history,” says Maury McIntyre, President and COO of the Television Academy. The Academy today unveiled the key art (see above and below), which features an Art Deco-style black and gold “hero” or “goddess” image for Emmy, a departure from the previous pure gold images. Designer Ty Mattson helped design the key art, which will be utilized across multiple platforms including the website, advertisements, collateral materials and motion graphics.

“We broke with traditional, photo realistic designs of previous years,” said the Academy’s Senior Creative Director Scott Buford, “and collaborated with Mattson Design to create a direction that was striking, simple and would reflect the Television Academy’s path of change and growth.”

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Andy Samberg, airs live Sunday, September 20 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

The most dramatic departure for Emmy Awards key art in Academy history?  My goodness!  You mean that it is not just another golden lady holding a big ball above her head?

    Oh wait.
