Here are the latest updates to the Emmys predictions center. Please keep updating your predictions frequently.

“Saints and Strangers” will be a TV movie and not a limited series (they have received clearance to only enter the second part).

“Roots” has only two leads: Malachi Kirby and Rege-Jean Page. Their biggest supporting pushes are Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Anika Noni Rose.

“The Night Manager” only has one lead: Tom Hiddleston. The major supporting pushes are Hugh Laurie, Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman, and Elizabeth Debicki.

“Tut” is entering Ben Kinsley as supporting and not lead.

The following names are added in the drama categories:
    Rhea Seehorn (“Better Call Saul”)
    Neve Campbell (“House of Cards”)
    Joel Kinnaman (“House of Cards”)

The following names are added in the comedy categories:
    Martha Plimpton (“The Real O’Neals”)
    Noel Wells (“Master of None”)
America Ferrera and Ben Feldman (“Superstore”)

    Thanks! These are great additions.

Kind of bizarre about Saints and Strangers – if they are being made to compete in movie then why shouldn’t they be able to submit both parts as one movie (it was only two parts, right?).

Boomer, do you have any added intel on this?

In order to enter as a movie, they could only enter one segment in the program category. If any actors get nominated, they will also be entering the second part and not the rest.

Still no Angela Bassett for American Horror Story: Hotel? I know she isn’t likely to win, but she’s been nominated for the last 2 installments, so I’d suspect she’d be a contender this year.

And I’m particularly curious about the placements of Lady Day, A Very Murray Christmas, and 7 Days in Hell, as I could easily see them in Special Class or Variety program categories, although that’d really leave the TV Movie category with hardly any contenders at all.

So no Anna Paquin for Roots then? That’s sad.

When are you going to add the guest categories?

We will not add guests until the Emmy ballots are released in June.

You know Emmy season is officially up when networks start to game the system. How can they allow a two part miniseries to compete in movie(where competition is lighter) category with the excuse of them submitting only one of their installments? Why didn’t The Honorable Woman or any other miniseries try to do the same thing last year? Boo. More categories is always more problem. Those episodes didn’t even air on the same night.

‘Togetherness’ is conspicuously absent in comedy series.

This is the network that has gotten series nominations for ‘Flight of the Conchords’ and ‘Big Love’.

Removing “And Then There Were None” from all categories. It will only be competing at the International Emmys.

That’s too bad. Just watched the US airing of it and thought it was quite good. Does it not qualify here for some reason?
