I wanted to make a special topic on this if you don’t mind. Saw online that Valerie Harper has been diagnosed with a terminal form of brain cancer and may have as little as 3 months left. I remember reading not long ago that she dropped out of the tour of her one woman show Looped about Tallulah Bankhead due to illness (Stefanie Powers took over the role). Now we know why.
How utterly sad. Rhoda Morgenstern is an iconic character. Nominated for 8 Emmys and won 4. I also loved her on Valerie before the contract dispute caused her to leave.
Her story is on the cover of the new issue of People. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20679402,00.html
what! ……………. omg i feel like crying
So sad. Her Rhoda was one of the best female roles in TV history! As a kid I loved her in The Hogan Family before she left the show. Puts things into perspective. She is brave to go forward with this in hoping to bring awareness.
What a terrible loss for her family and the world as a whole. I am so proud of the way she is handeling this. I will miss her when she passes.
It’s so sad to hear this news. She is a legend in television, and it is a shame that she will be leaving us soon.
SAG Lifetime Achievement award winner Valerie Harper
Ms. Harper was truly a treasure. I am so thrilled she has been able to have such a successful, happy life. She will be missed.
Though you guys would like to see this picture. It’s Valerie Harper with Betty White, Cloris Leachman, Georgia Engel, and Mary Tyler Moore shooting an episode of Hot in Cleveland together.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson took the picture
Here’s a picture from the official press conference; they look great! Really excited for this!
