I feel that Voice-Over Performance should be a category next year, especially considering how it’s actually going to be it’s most competitive this year with the glowing reviews Will Arnett in BoJack Horseman and Justin Roiland in Rick and Morty are getting, and of course the actors from The Simpsons.

But Sam Heughan would win it.

I like the idea of episodic performance. Someone who might not have done much in a season but had one big showcase, or someone who has an episode dedicated primarily to them. This would give some people like Ellen Pompeo in her big episode get a nomination while not deserving of the drama actress nomination. Or Cristin Miliot in How Your Mother Met Me. Someone from the Orange cast like Yael Stone who had a great episode in season 2. Another worthy contender would have been Naomi Grossman in the Orphan episode of AHS.

Wouldn’t a voice over award just be a ‘Most Popular Voice Over From The Simpsons’, or ‘Most Famous Guest Voice Over’ each year?

No, because even if it’s not necessarily based on who does the “best voicework” – care to guess how many voices Seth MacFarlane or Dan Castellaneta does in a typical episode of their series? – but has “voting for the actor” involved, you still have Kristen Schaal (Louise on Bob’s Burgers), Aubrey Plaza (Dylan on the half-hour version of Golan the Insatiable), and Seth Green (in pretty much every episode of Robot Chicken) in non-guest roles.

Maybe also include Voice-Over Performance Guest Stars in the Guest Actor/Actress in a Comedy categories?
