Gold Derby is eager to welcome new writers to our blogs, but beware:
they must really know AWARDS. We’re not publishing movie reviews or
someone’s harrumphs about Hollywood. Our focus is on Oscars, Emmys,
Grammys, etc., how they work, who’ll win them and why.

Currently, we are not paying for blog contributions, but hope that will
change in a few months. Now is the time to get on board. If you’re
interested, please send me a PM … tell me your specific expertise and interests. Please include a few specific article pitches.

If you’ve got specific article ideas for pieces to appear in our blog, please pitch ’em. We’d like to bring on a few new writers and we invite you to try out if you’re game ….

Think of it as your audition to be the next Chris Beachum ….

I would love to. I’m fine with (and don’t care about) no payment, I already have a steady job.

I can handle every award except Grammys. I will send you my audition article in the coming hours.

I’d like to nominate Paul Han.

LOL. I second. This is easily the best thing you’ve said on this forum.

Since it is Oscar season, would you prefer the article be about Oscars? Or can I write one about Emmy?

Any topic at all …. We love all awards, including Tonys (and I see that you post there too) … but don’t write the whole thing. Give us several ideas — one paragraph on each pitch, ok?

What if I already wrote the whole thing? Can I still send it to you?

I don’t quite understand what you want in the article, If I’ll go to talk about the Oscars should I analize the categories, is it something like this?

I’m assuming what they’re looking for are original article pitches. Say you’ve seen a trend in Emmy nominations for example that you feel hasn’t been really analyzed or discussed before; you could find the history of the trend write about it.

While that’s only an example, I’m under the impression that is the kind of thing they’re looking for.
