Great interview and slugfest!
– It’s a shame that there were a few audio glitches for the slugfest, but they were worth it to hear Tom’s HFPA impression. I’m not sure that Breaking Bad can win the globe; I agree with Tom that they like to be trendy and hip, but I’m not sure if they can overcome the apathy displayed for the show for the past 5 years. If Bryan Cranston can give one of the best television performances in history and still leave emptyhanded, how can the show pull it off?
– If Kerry Washington wasn’t in the race, Tatiana Maslany would win drama actress.
– Homeland is going to stick around, but it doesn’t have a shot at winning again. So, the question becomes, what does win? I think Breaking Bad is the underdog, and House of Cards is the favorite because it combines two of the HFPA’s guilty pleasures: (1) a new trendy show (Netflix making history!) and (2) movie stars.
– I think Kevin Spacey beats Bryan Cranston this year… and the Globes will be known as the organization that just didn’t ‘get’ Breaking Bad.
