Back in the olden days with a half dozen broadcast networks and maybe a few good cable offerings, it was easy to keep up with most good TV shows. Nowadays with original programming on a hundred cable channels plus Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Yahoo, Flimflam, JubJub, Zippitydoo and a million other online domain names that are probably being bought by media companies right now, it’s literally impossible to watch everything. These days, looking at a TV schedule is like, “Here are 20 shows you’d probably love. You have time for maybe 4.”

What shows have you missed or are you missing that you’d probably be into but just haven’t gotten around to? Are there any older shows you feel like you should catch up, except for there being so … much … TV?

For instance, I imagine I’d love the hell out of “The Shield,” but I’m just not sure that will ever happen with seven seasons to chew on. And there are too many current probably-great shows that I haven’t seen yet to count.

I decided just tonight I’m not going to be able to get into The Walking Dead, even though word of mouth is that the current season is so far the show’s best. I never tried watching TWD, because it looked like just another zombie show. If I had known it was going to become the phenomenon it was I totally would have gotten into it way earlier.

But now, I juat have too many shows on my plate (Steven Universe, IZombie, The Flash, Fargo, South Park, Moonbeam City, The Grinder, The Good Wife ((Which I had never watched before the current season, and even though I’ve nver seen an episode before Season 7, I’m having a pretty good time following the storylines there are), and a bunch of other shows like The Knick, Game of Thrones, House of Cards and Homeland that I can’t watch regularly because I don’t have premium cable or Netflix, but am always sure to watch whenever I get the chance to!

Oh, and Jane The Virgin is another one like TWD that I didn’t get into because I had no clue it would become as universally acclaimed as it wound up being. 🙁

Damages, Madam Secretary, Desperate Housewives, Six Feet Under,The Affair, The Big C, the Sopranos, the Tudors, and Peaky Blinders. I’ll probably have seen half of
    these by July.

It was Frasier, but I’m midway through tackling that now. Also: Star Trek/TNG, Cheers, Homicide, Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, Ally McBeal, My So-Called Life, MASH, Taxi.

Pretty much any streaming show that premiered in 2015. I’m behind on those and several other broadcast, basic cable, and pay cable shows that I want to catch up on. Don’t worry. I’ll catch up eventually (not really lol). That’s what happens when you watch a lot of sports and they must come first.

ShockedWay too many of you need to watch The Sopranos and open your eyes to tv for the first time in your life.  And Breaking Bad?…that show ended just two seasons ago.

I’ve honestly got to catch up with Mad Men. I’ve seen maybe the first two and a half seasons and nothing after that.

I would love to watch Transparent, but I don’t have the money to spend on a Prime account.

I’m sure I’d love Mom, but I bailed mid-way through the first season due to conflicts with another program I wanted to watch more and only so much space on the DVR.

If I had Showtime I’m sure I’d like Masters of Sex and Homeland.   But at this point I’m not sure I’ll ever catch up with them.

I saw one or two episodes of Getting On and liked what I saw but never got a chance to catch up with it.

I have to make an effort to find all the episodes of The Newsroom as well.  and i just haven’t had time to get into House of Cards.

As for older series, I’ve always wanted to watch House, Dexter, Homicide Life on The Street, Hill Street Blues, LA Law, and would love to finish or catch up on Ugly Betty (dropped out mid-way through its run), The Big Bang Theory and Six Feet Under.
