I’ve just spent some time re-organizing my picks in the predictions center (click on my “view predictions” link to the left to see them; did I forget anyone?). I must say, some of these categories are really hard to narrow down to only 6 nominees. Most notably, Best Comedy Actress. Looking at my list, I don’t even have past winners Tina Fey and Toni Collette! Frankly, Patricia Heaton and Martha Plimptin are more current and I think they have a better shot. But it just killed me to withold those two ladies.
And then when it comes to Supporting Drama Actor, things are just a mess. I have absolutely no idea who could win this category, so my #1 choice Alan Cumming is just temporary. But who fills up the other 5 slots, and which deserving fellas get left behind? There are too many worthy contenders here!
What about you? What categories are the hardest to narrow down to only 6?
The problem with comedy lead actress is the number of non-comedy actresses competing in that category, such as your eliminated Toni Collette.
Comedy Series. We all know that The Office, Modern Family, Glee, and 30 Rock are already shoo-ins.
Now which two will complete the list?
Traditional sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and Hot in Cleveland?
Showtime dramedies such as Nurse Jackie and The Big C?
or Parks and Recreation.
It’s really hard to predict.
The drama categories almost seem to be set in stone.
I’m really crossing my fingers for Parks & Rec and Community.
My realistic hope for Community is that McHale gets a lead actor nod. (And Carrell wins the Emmy.)
My realistic hope for Parks & Rec is that Poehler, Offerman and the show WINS.
