For me, it was Kerry Washington losing Best Drama Actress to Claire Danes two years ago.

Washington made “Scandal” into appointment television. That she would have been the first African American to win this category (and in a show by Shonda Rimes, the first African American woman to create so many hour-long dramas) would have made her victory even more special.

What defeat keeps you up at night, wondering where did it all go wrong?

Frances Conroy, Rachel Griffiths, Amber Tamblyn and Jennifer Garner ALL losing to Allison Janney.

Jon Hamm losing to Kyle Chandler, when he had the best submission (“The Suitcase”).

Cristina Hendricks losing to both Maggie Smith and Achie Panjabi

Jean Smart losing to Blythe Danner

Season 1 & 2 of Six Feet Under losing to The West Wing

Six Feet Under’s “Everyone’s Waiting” losing both best drama writing and directing

Michael C. Hall (Dexter, “The Gateway”), Jon Hamm (Mad Men, “The Gipsy And The Hobo”) and Hugh Laurie (House, “Broken”) ALL losing to Brian Cranston with his worst submission ever (Breaking Bad, “Full Measure”)

I guess the Emmys have haunted me a lot. ( .__.)

the recent ones that stick out:
-Lisa Kudrow 2005. Highway robbery pure and simple.
-Jane Krakowski (2013, but also her previous 3 noms too)
-Steve Carell (I know everyone says his last year, but he was robbed the previous years too)
    -Laura Dern 2013
    -Sarah Paulson 2013
    -Amy Poehler (2011 and/or 2012)

    All horrendously robbed.

Jeffrey Tambor never winning for The Larry Sanders Show or Arrested Development.
Zach Braff getting only one nomination for SCRUBS when Charlie Sheen was nominated for best actor FOUR TIMES.

Curb Your Enthusiasm never winning oustanding comedy series.

Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson never winning for The Office.
The Office not winning outstanding comedy series twice.
Cheers not winning oustanding comedy series a fifth time.
