I am thankful that the Emmys have not done this yet with Comedy and Drama.  I am fearful that this will happen since they will do this in the Mini Series category next year.

In short, it’ll be like the SAGs but w/better nominees.

Thank god they haven’t gotten rid of the supporting categories. Too many people would have gone unrecognized otherwise. Although they did away with the miniseries/movie supporting categories, I doubt they’ll the same with drama and comedy. These categories matter to a lot of people, both to the actors and the audience. There’s a better chance of the mini/movie acting categories being retired altogether than the drama and comedy supporting categories being eliminated.

I hope so. Pushing variety performers into races of supporting acting in a comedy series was bad enough. Now eliminating supporting categories for mini-series and TV movies is yet another very bad decision. Eliminating supporting categories for drama and comedy series altogether would be a horror of unprecedented proporsions.

I hope they change their minds about eliminating the movie/mini supporting categories or they at least bring them back after a year or two.
