Out of all the nominees you are predicting to win, which one do you consider to be the lock of the night?

If I had to chose one it would be All the Way in TV Movie. It did well in the nominations, and no other TV Movie over performed or even performed as well as All the Way did. Even in the Limited, Drama, and Comedy races there are shows that did very well in addition to the frontrunners (OJ, Game of Thrones, and Veep respectively).

Yes, I agree. All the Way ticks off too many boxes (HBO movie, aired in a presidential election year, about a beloved Democratic president etc.) for the voters to resist. And it’s directed by Jay Roach, who delivered the Emmy-winning Recount (2008) and Game Change (2012) during the last two presidential election years. If ATW loses, all bets are off.

    All The Way
    Bryan Cranston
    Allison Janney
    Game of Thrones
    People vs. OJ Simpson
    Julia Louis-Dreyfus

In that order. Other frontrunners are not really locks.

    JLD

I’m actually not even predicting All the Way to prevail.

Wow, and I thought I was confident about Cranston…

But yeah, it’s All the Way, Julia, OJ and GoT’s “Battle…” For Directing, in that order.

As much as I hate repeat winners, Julia Louis Dreyfus should be the biggest acting lock of the night.

The biggest lock is Game of Thrones for Drama Series, followed by All the Way for TV movie and JLD.

Sarah Paulson is a lock as well.

Janney and Cranston are NOT locks by any measure.

They are more of a lock than Sarah Paulson, and I am saying this as someone who loves and is rooting for Sarah Paulson.

Wow, and I thought I was confident about Cranston…

I don’t see him losing to anyone in that category, he managed to win over tougher competition and he’ll be an 8 time Emmy winner by the end of that night.

I wish, but Sarah Paulson is NEVER a lock. I mean she was also lock for both Asylum and Freak Show and she lost out to two mediocore performances.

I still think that Kirsten Dunst’s role was more of a transformative and difficult performance than Sarah Paulson’s. If Paulson wins, it’ll be based on the popularity of her show than the merit of her performance alone.
