There was some initial uncertainty about whether “Better Call Saul” would be a comedy before it aired, and it does have some comedy in it. And of course “Lou Grant” was a drama spun off from “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” What drama would you spin-off as a comedy, or vice versa — a drama spun from a comedy?

When Glee was hitting its 3rd season there was alot of talk about the possibility of doing a spin off with Rachel and Kurt in New York City that ended up just being a parallel story in seasons 4 and 5 that I felt was one of the issues with the last half of the series. The focus was all over the place.
They could have benefited by doing this spin off that could have been more dramatic but kept the musical aspect of the show since more of Rachel/Kurt’s storylines dealt with the adult world and were a bit less comedic than usual storylines. It could have also helped the main show out with fleshing out the newer characters that were left underserved with lack of time.

I also would love to see an Eric/Pam spin off of True Blood. Pam was one of the comedic reliefs of the show and an Eric/Pam spin off would be so much fun. Sookie and especially Bill started to get boring towards the end of the series so a shift of focus to them would have been much more entertaining. It would be great if Jason and if Tara never died would be on the spin off too because I loved them. Even a Lafayette cameo or two would be fun.

I have to second the idea of a Pam spinoff but for some reason I really want to see one for Kate Mulgrew (but only after OISTNB is done)

Not exactly on-topic, but I would be interested in seeing the humor stripped from Desperate Houswives and have them transplated to the world of The Walking Dead. Perhaps even keep them on Wisteria Lane, but have them constanly fight to survive.

Or just have the women join the cast of TWD lol.

Haha, interesting. Thinking about those characters, here’s the order in which I think they’d end up getting eaten by zombies:

    1. Susan (I somehow don’t think she’d last long)
    2. Gabrielle (I think she’d survive a while on ruthlessly feeding others to the herd, but she’d eventually get eaten)
    3. Lynette (harried mom in the zombie apocalypse, she could easily become a bad-ass Carol type)
    4. Bree (she might actually scare the zombies away)
