We have just seen revivals of Gilmore Girls and the X-files, and we are about to see Twin Peaks and Will and Grace come back to our screens. This made me wonder, what show is next? The first show that came to mind was 30 Rock. Most of the cast isn’t TOO busy, and they would have so much material to use. Just imagine the first episode being about Liz Lemon and Jack Donnoughy getting the cast together for a revival of TGS. What else should be revived? I think there was a similar thread but I couldn’t find it so I just made this.

I thinking something retro like A Different World or Desiging Women. W We really need a good topical sitcom. I also think E.R. Or Law and Oorder ucould be rebooted and do well.

With everything going on in the world today I can’t help but thinking we need a show like The West Wing or The Newsroom on the air today.

I would love to see Designing Women come back! Except for Dixie Carter all the other actresses are still alive and kicking. So bring it back, even for six episodes!

My thought for DW was more of a reboot featuring a new generation of actresses. My thought is that given the setting of the show is Atlanta, they could really mix it up and have an ethnically diverse cast. I’m thinking a couple black actresses, a Latina actress, a white actress and heck even a gay man to fill in for the Anthony character. Heck, perhaps that role could be written as a gay, black man since we see very few gay black men portrayed on screen.

I hate reboots. I’m all for revivals but huge no no to reboots. Either be original or bring back the old show with the same characters played by the same actors. Reboots are disgusting and lazy.

    POPULAR from the WB.
Amazing show. Probably no one else here even remembers it.

No one watched this show, but The LA Complex it featured what I thought to be a groundbreaking African American/LGBTQ character excellently performed by Andra Fuller.

It also featured Jewel Staite (Kaylee Frye from Firefly). It got canceled when everyone in the show had a huge dramatic change. So much was up in the air.

What he said! Whenever talks of revivals come up, it’s always this one for me. Fits the perfect mold of great, innovative show that was ahead of its time, cancelled too soon, and would benefit from a delightful short-run revival.

Of course I remember it! It is one of my all-time favorite series. But I think it would be too difficult to revive now, all the characters would be in their mid-30’s by now.
