What omission nearly ruined the Emmys for you? There where a lot of great shows that got a lot of love this year: The Americans, Fargo, Veep, People vs OJ, American Crime. But also a lot of ones that where painfully under represented.

If I had to chose one it would be The Leftovers without a doubt. This was by a large margin my favorite show in the Drama Category of the past year. Justin Theroux, Regina King, and Carrie Coon should have been nominated no question. But it couldn’t even get in writing for the brilliant International Assassin or Best Main Title design for it’s brilliantly odd new opening credits

Also thought the omissions of Horace and Pete, Patrick Wilson, Connor Jessup, and You’re the Worst where awful.

The Leftovers and You’re The Worst, especially for their lead actress (Aya Cash and Carrie Coon)

My choices for worst snubs along with the respective category’s weakest nominee who could have easily been replaced in my opinion

    Christian Slater, Mr. Robot
(Ben Mendelsohn, Bloodline or Michael Kelly, House of Cards)

SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A LIMITED SERIES
    Connor Jessup, American Crime
(David Schimmer or John Travolta, The People v O.J. Simpson)

Gael Garcia Bernal, Mozart in the Jungle
    (Aziz Ansari, Master of None)

LEAD ACTOR IN A LIMITED SERIES
    Patrick Wilson, Fargo
Oscar Isaac, Show Me a Hero

(Cuba Gooding Jr., The People v O.J. Simpson or Tom Hiddleston, The Night Manager)

SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
    Regina King, The Leftovers
    Christine Baranski, The Good Wife

(Maisie Williams or Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones)

LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
    Carrie Coon, The Leftovers
    Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife

(Taraji P. Henson, Empire or Tatiana Maslany, Orphan Black)

Christian Slater comes to mind, first and foremost. I also was extremely surprised about Christine Baranski, even though I’m not an avid “The Good Wife” viewer.

    1. “International Assassin”
    2. Patrick Wilson
    3. Oscar Isaac
    4. Paul Dano
    5. Colin Farrell
    6. Johnny Depp
    7. Andy Samberg
    8. Anthony Hopkins
    9. Ian McKellan
    10. Ben Wishaw
I did not see all of those people, but I cannot imagine that they deserved to be snubbed for Cuba Gooding Jr.

    1. Christine Baranski
    2. Christine Baranski
    3. Christine Baranski
    4. Christine Baranski

    Oh yes. And Christine Baranski.

Who in their right mind would nominate Maisie Williams or Emilia Clarke instead of Christine Baranski? I’m sorry. Just venting out my frustrations.

The Leftovers obviously, but I feel like it never had a realistic shot of getting in anyway.

Among actual realistic shows to get in, I’m still reeling from the TV Academy blatantly dismissing Orange Is the New Black on all accounts except Casting. It really seems like they’ve had it out for this show since it dared to submit itself as a comedy in Season 1. I get that Season 3 wasn’t exactly well received, but this still feels extreme.
