Personally, I think it comes down to two choices: “All in the Family” and “I Love Lucy.” I pick “Lucy.”June 11, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1202117506

The Mary Tyler Moore Show
I’m with you on this pick.
CBS’s The Mary Tyler Moore Show sticks out for me because of its human and relatable comedy so supremely executed on all counts by first-rate talents.
It kind of feels funny to even try to go any further into explaining why; it’s not necessary. But, of all the other comedy series which came after The Mary Tyler Moore Show ended, forty years ago in 1977, nothing beats it; nothing did before.June 11, 2017 at 9:49 pm #1202117791

ALL IN THE FAMILY….no doubt….. (and for me AMOS & ANDY…I own all of the shows on DVD)June 12, 2017 at 12:24 pm #1202118573
The best comedy series ever is Arrested Development, no contest! The brilliant acting all around, the vast number of hilarious recurring jokes, the allusions to events that hadn’t actually occurred yet on the show. There are definitely some other amazing comedies out there, but no other show can ever compare to just how brilliant and funny Arrested Development was, and hopefully will be again in its fifth season.
