Of course, none of us agrees on one flawless Emmy prediction list and in some categories everyone has a different opinion, but is there any name who is at Top1 on GoldDerbys predicted winners list right now, that you find it so weird and absurd that you couldn’t believe your eyes and you’re sure that they won’t pull it off?

Here are this years expected winners in main categories according to us; (Nearly all winners have at least twice has odds than the 2nd option so  I don’t expect this list to change much after this point, except maybe Best Drama Series.)

    -Game of Thrones
    -Viola Davis
    -Jon Hamm
    -Lena Headey
    -Jonathan Banks
    -David Nutter in Directing.
    -Matthew Weiner in Writing.

    -Veep
    -Julia Louis-Dreyfus
    -Jeffrey Tambor
    -Allison Janney
    -Tituss Burgess
    -Armando Ianucci in Directing.
    -Jill Solloway in Writing.

    -Olive Kitteridge
    -Bessie
    -Frances McDormand
    -David Oyelowo
    -Sarah Paulson
    -Bill Murray
    -Lisa Cholodenko in Directing.
    -Jane Anderson in Writing.

    -The Amazing Race
    -The Colbert Report
    -Inside Amy Schumer

I personally think Jonathan Banks is so overhyped in here and all the critic blogs I’ve seen that it seems more like a wishful thinking than a reasonable prediction. If this new rule means that contenders will be more judged for their overall work over the season and not by only one episode, I really don’t understand how he could be a sure bet. It seems like at least 3 other contenders in that category have other advantages that he doesn’t have. Banks was more like a guest actor throughout the season and only shone in one episode. Will voters remember that scene? Or did they really give this BB-spinoff a shot until its 6th episode?

The others I’m not buying and probably never will are the ridiculously weird Tituss Burgess hype and David Oyelowo.

What are your yours? And more importantly, why?

Viola Davis, Tituss Burgess, Jeffrey Tambor & Frances McDormand….. Personally I’d want Taraji P. Henson, Tony Hale, Will Forte & Jessica Lange to win.

I’m not buying Jeffrey Tambor. His role is too dramatic. His episode is too unspectacular. And the show is too underseen.

I’m not buying Jon Hamm even though he’s #1 on my predictions list and I can see a scenario where he wins, due to buzz.
We’re predicting him because we want him to win after 6 or 7 consecutive nominations (and consequently 6 or 7 different loser faces – REAL acting), not because he has the best episode (the ones who think that are Mad Men fans). Kyle Chandler has a much better tape.

I do not buy Jon Hamm or Jeffrey Tambor. I’ll probably still predict them but I’m not confident at all.

All of the Drama winners except Viola Davis and Matthew Weiner.

    • Game of Thrones (Doesn’t deserve it)
    • Jon Hamm (He lost umpteenth times already, I won’t believe it until I see it)
    • Lena Headey (CGI, and Aduba is better)
    • Jonathan Banks (never liked him, even when he was on Modern Family & Community and Mendelsohn is better)
    • David Nutter (I think they won’t award him while they have 3 bigger names that can win including a woman)
    • Veep (I mean only one cable series won in the history of this category and that was Sex and The City which was 13 times bigger than Veep, so I can’t wrap my head around it, sorry)
    • Jeffrey Tambor (Waaaay too dramatic)
    • Armando Iannucci in directing (Alive in Tuscon should have it in the bag)
    • Jill Soloway in writing (If anyone but Louis C.K is winning it is Will Forte)

Tituss Burgess. I think Academy loves Modern Family so much that Ty Burrell will take this! (It seems the best chance for the show this year BTW).
In my view, Game of Thrones doesn’t deserve the Emmy. Last season was so irregular IMO. Even without the buzz, Mad Men looks like a probably winner.
Yes, Jonathan Banks is more a guest actor than a supporting performance during the season. Ben Mendelson or Michael Kelly should have it in the bag!!!

Interesting. I have Veep winning in Writing and Transparent winning in Directing. I’m not sold on the Veep as this year’s Comedy Series winner neither but I have no idea which show should I predict. Modern Family again?

I have no idea what will be the series winner, I’m predicting Modern Family to be safe but I personally think Parks & Rec and Silicon Valley are more deserving this year.  (my #2 and #3 respectively)

I can’t understand why the used of CGI in the Lena Headey scene diminishes the quality of her performance. She did the same things as the stunt double, walked the same path beside her, had the same things thrown in her body, the only difference is that she did it with a few clothes rather than naked.

Game of Thrones – lackluster season, that God awful episode “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”
Homeland deserves to win for a waaay better season.
Personally, I want Orange is the New Black to win.

Jon Hamm – He hasn’t won the first 50,000 times, he’s not winning now.
    Kyle Van Damme should win.

For me I’m not gonna stop predicting Modern family until it actually loses.

Jonathan Banks is in a similar boat as Frances McDormand. That is, he is up against two contenders who give incredible and impressive performances, equally worthy of winning an Emmy. Should Michael Kelly or especially Ben Mendelsohn win, that does not mean “Jonathan Banks was robbed” (I can see the posts now). Like with McDormand, she is up against Maggie Gyllenhaal and Queen Latifah, both who deliver the best performances of their careers, and both who deserve an Emmy. We all have to rank these contenders, so I rank Banks and McDormand first, but they each have two people under them that are just as deserving.

I’m not buying Jon Hamm. What’s throwing me is this new system of voting. Under the old system, I would have him ranked fourth. Regardless, I just don’t buy that his overdue factor can overcome Kyle Chandler’s performance in “Part 12” of Bloodline.

I’m also not buying Jeffrey Tambor as the immediate winner. Voters always go for the funny man in this category. Going by that, there’s no reason Will Forte should lose. Like Hamm, what Tambor has in his favor is this new system of voting. And if there’s ever been an actor to end the streak of “Lead Actor Comedy has to go to the funniest nominee,” it’s Jeffrey Tambor in Transparent
