Assuming both Moore and Metz compete in supporting actress, if only one gets in, who should it be?

my vote goes to Mandy Moore, who is essentially playing two characters; the young Rebecca and the aged Rebecca.

The category is empty enough for both of them to get in and both of them should get in. It helps that almost none of the other big new contenders (The Crown and Stranger Things) has supporting actress hopefuls, other than Thandie Newton for Westworld. Depending on how the show performs it should be easy for both to get in.

I would choose Mandy Moore. I think Chrissy Metz is good, but not great. Mandy Moore has really impressed me, especially in last week’s episode.

This category should be fun this year.

Metz, though I’d hardly protest Moore garnering a nod.

I disagree with all of that. First of all, the category might only have two contenders returning, but it is very competitive. Second of all, Stranger Things got a Sag nom for Millie Bobby Brown. That is HUGE. Moore and Metz didn’t, that means Brown is ahead of both of them. We also have Vanessa Kirby for the Crown, the OINTB women, dark horse Paula Malcomson for Ray Donovan, Alfre Woodard for Luke Cage, Elizabeth Marvel on Homeland and so many more. Even the Rectify women have a chance. We also can’t count out Oscar nominee Ruth Negga for Preacher. This is my favorite category.

The key word is ‘should’, and while they both give performances better than half of last years supporting lineup (and the gaps this year further facilitate their chances), I think there are dozens of better supporting actress performances (some of which admittedly haven’t aired yet) that should be getting the attention Moore and Metz are getting.

Kirby can ride in as a coattail nominee but that’s it.

The only OITNB nominee will be Uzo Aduba and that’s that.

MBB will not be nominated, she is a child and Emmys don’t nominate children.

Alfre Woodard could take Constance Zimmer’s slot

Elizabeth Marvel is a big question mark as of now cause Homeland is so underwhelming so far.

Also Ruth Negga is not being nominated for a comic book show.

    I guess that’s all.

Chrissy. I think Mandy Moore is incredibly overrated. Chrissy is the only deserving one of the two.

Homeland episode 2 was amazing, I have a feeling there will be something in store for Marvel.

Never count out Oscar nominees, Woodard and Negga are both threats, even for comic book shows, especially Woodard. Millie Bobby Brown got a SAG nomination on a new show AS A CHILD. Do you understand how significant that is? Not only did she get in, but the supporting and lead actresses are combined. She should be in over everybody but Newton. She got in over Woods, Russel, Tierney, Zimmer and literally everybody. She Is getting in. Also, OINTB has passion, so if any acting nominee gets a vote, there will be others clustered with it. I could honestly see three OINTB acting noms.

Also OMG I forgot Carly Chaikin and all the other Mr. Robot women. I will die if she is not nominated.

SAG is not really a precursor for Emmy, many SAG nominees missed out on Emmy nominations in their respective years and they were actually respected people in the industry not just a child starting out in the business.

Also I hope you led a happy life so far cause other than Rami Malek noone from Mr. Robot is getting into acting races.

And I said Woodard would get in above, I don’t really doubt her ever since she got in for True Blood.

Umm they JUST nominated Massie Williams. Millie Bobby Brown is a lock for that Emmy nomination.

Maisie Williams is a 19 years old young woman. Millie Bobby Brown is a 12 years old child if you can’t see the difference the problem isn’t mine.

Fred Savage. Frankie Muniz. Claire Danes. Roxanna Zal.

It is not unprecedented. You know what is unprecedented. A show like stranger things doing as good as it is doing everywhere. The fact that is is so successful proves that we are in uncharted territory.

I don’t see how Elizabeth Marvel is more likely than Miranda Otto was last year for Homeland.
