For me, each castmember of “The Middle” should have won at least one Emmy by now. That none of them has even been nominated is ridiculous.
The snobs in the TV academy embrace the upscale “Modern Family” gang year after year but reject Frankie Heck (two-time champ Patricia Heaton) and her blue collar bunch of misfits. The stand-out among the three actors playing her children has to be Eden Sher as the eternally optimistic Sue.
What show or star perpetually snubbed by the Emmys gets you most steamed?June 23, 2015 at 3:48 pm #351252
I can’t believe no one other than Amy Poehler from Parks and Recreation was ever nominated. Especially Nick Offerman, who seem like the quintessential supporting actor with great one-liners who wins Emmys all the time. A real crime that he was never nominated. And I don’t expect it to be any different this year.
Also, the almost complete ignoring of The Americans other than Margo Martindale has been awful. Hopefully that changes this year.June 23, 2015 at 3:53 pm #351253
First on my mind is Vincent Kartheiser for Mad Men and The Wire overall as a TV Show.
Other than them I consider Nick Offerman for Parks & Recreation, Craig Ferguson for the Late Late Show (he was nominated for his first year, though), Walton Goggins for The Shield, and Oz and Treme as shows overall, some of the Academy’s many foul plays.June 23, 2015 at 3:56 pm #351254

It’s in her f*cking name.June 23, 2015 at 5:29 pm #351257
Made a huge error in the other thread. Really, but I’ll have to say Tatiana Maslany. She really deserves it this year.June 23, 2015 at 6:00 pm #351259

I’ll probably think of a ton moreJune 23, 2015 at 6:39 pm #351263
1. Emmy Rossum has been one of the 5 best actresses, comedy
or drama, doesnt Mater, for the last five years. The single most unforgivable to me.
2. Jennifer Carpenter for AT LEAST the seventh and eight
seasons of Dexter.
3. Hannibal as a series and both leads. Its amazing how a network
show this grim and brutal and typical material for divisiveness and
controversy, has been cited for 2 years now as one of the very best in tv.
There´s a reason why.
4. Parenthood performaers, especially Mae Whitman, Monica
Potter and Erika Christensen, but honestly, take your pick. The ridiculous
thing comes from John Ritter being the sole nominee for that show. That´s the
finger for you.
5. Its fairly new to be in a list of the biggest snubs ever,
but at this rate Freddie Highmore should become an insult snub.
6. I´m a walking dead fanboy, I admit it, but objectively, it has had at
least 2 seasons worth a best series nomination. That and the fact that Andrew
Lincoln and Melissa McBride have given Amazing performances for years now.June 23, 2015 at 9:20 pm #351264
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Justified, which maintained stellar quality after its second season, but never managed to regain Emmy favor. I think an episode like “Decoy” should have won writing and directing awards, and that Neal McDonough and Jim Beaver should have gotten recognition for their respective seasons. And with Walton Goggins every bit the scene domineering anti-hero as the best of them, the fact that he hasn’t an Emmy to his name for Boyd Crowder is a real shame. Hopefully, this last–and frankly, series best–seasn will win enough hearts, but for a show that has such a disdinct voice, and is so great for as long as it was, Justfied has really been shafted over the years.June 23, 2015 at 9:33 pm #351265
“The Wire” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” remain the king and queen of the Emmy-snubbed.
