Sydow, could finally win a long overdue major Hollywood award this year for his efforts on the HBO juggernaut.

Emmy’s favorite bridesmaid is rumored to be making an appearance next season. So we can start anticipating her chances of finally getting that trophy. Oscar winner Jim Broadbent will enter into the conversation also for season 7.

So who should be next? My choice Ian McKellan who like Sydoe has never won a major Hollywood award.

    Who’s your choice???

I don’t like the idea of getting famous actors into Game of Thrones cameo roles for the sake of it because it reduces the show to the ‘popular culture’ extravaganza that prioritises talking points over quality.

I mean Sydow really didn’t have to be in that role. If a guest star genuinely could make a character their own (which McShane went someway towards doing in episode 7 of season 6) then I would be more receptive.

Wait a second? Game of Thrones IS NOT pop culture extravaganza? Their desire to surprise fans cut quite the number of corners when it came down to logic and characterization. It was all about “WOW” factor. The only thing that surpasses Game of Thrones in that department was last year’s Star Wars. Now, that was one huge fan service, through and through.

I’d love to see Kenneth Branagh, no idea who he could play though!

Probably won’t ever happen but since they have some ties to HBO already, but Stephen Moyer and Sienna Miller come to mind off the bat.

Funny this thread came up as I was recently thinking about this. I doubt it will happen at this point, but I would love for John Noble to guest star on GoT. I always thought he would have made a great Walder Frey.
