Wasn’t Claire Danes pregnant at last year’s Emmys?

True, but you wouldn’t have been able to guess she was preggers just by looking at her.

I’ll have to disagree that you couldn’t tell Claire Danes was pregnant, especially since that was all anyone on the telecast could seem to talk about. This shot especially she looks pregnant to me:

Lisa Kudrow won for the season she was actually pregnant on Friends.

    Great question, Tom.

I’d say that Danes was noticeably pregnant at 6 months along at last year’s Emmys, but beyond that it gets tricky, as the Emmys tend to honor more older actress than the Oscars do.

Heidi Klum at 8 months along in 2009 and Amy Poehler at 8 months along in 2008 were very noticeably pregnant, but did not win. And Jennifer Garner was 6 months along in 2005 and Cynthia Nixon was 6 months along in 2002 and didn’t win. Debra Messing was 2 months along when she won in 2003, but was definitely not noticeably pregnant.

Lisa Kudrow had a 4 month old in 1998 and Jaime Pressly has a 4 month old in 2007 (and Pressly talked about babies bringing luck then) when they each won, while Mariska Hargitay had a 2 month old in 2006 when she won. And Lynn Whitfield had just given birth earlier in the month when she won in 1991.

The last one that stands out to me is Laurie Metcalf, who was 7 months along when she won in 1993. Also, Marg Helgenberger was 8 months along when she won in 1990, while Tyne Daly was 8 1/2 months along when she won in 1985.

I’d have to watch the footage very carefully, but I’d assume some writer or producer won in recent years while pregnant, but the only one I remember for sure was in 1989 when a producer from Cheers was hyperventilating and presenter Milton Berle commented that she sounded like she was going into labor.

Wasn’t Roseanne Barr pregnant when she won, but wasn’t there to accept the Emmy? I can’t remember if that was the year she was pregnant or not.
