Elisabeth MossAugust 6, 2017 at 11:13 pm #1202177036
This isn’t even a question for meAugust 6, 2017 at 11:14 pm #1202177040
The REAL question is, who would you vote for: Elisabeth Moss or Evan Rachel Wood?
I swear I literally have Claire Foy in 5th place.
I would vote for Moss over either, but seeing as how Wood’s show over-performed and Foy’s under-performed, there ought to be no question as to who is the real runner-up.August 7, 2017 at 12:40 am #1202177101
Claire Foy. Just because it’s her only chance.
But of course we all know Elisabeth Moss has already engraved her name on that statuette.August 7, 2017 at 1:41 am #1202177125
Foy. It’s taken me a while as both performances in such different ways but Foy’s performance was just such an achievement for me. The way she captured Elizabeth every sensibility faultlessly and then turned even the most plain of dialogue into something meaningful and often emotionally raw. Moss would be a great winner no doubt, she kept Handmaid’s interesting even in the most boring of scenes and I can’t fault her performance (other than that really creepy face she pulled whenever trying to seduce the Commander- a choice I still don’t understand but others on here will no doubt defend lol).
At the end of the day for me it comes down to what I felt was something I’ll very rarely see again from another performer and that was Claire Foy.
(Full disclaimer: I think Viola Davis has the best tape even though I’d still choose one of these two)August 7, 2017 at 1:44 am #1202177126

If this were true no performer would ever have won without their show. The acclaim behind Foy and Wood’s performances cannot be compared.August 7, 2017 at 4:17 am #1202177190
Since this is an obvious choice for most of us, who would your #2 choice? Foy or Wood? Or maybe even Wright, Davis and Russell?August 7, 2017 at 4:49 am #1202177193
This one’s tricky. They are both great with what they had to do. On the one hand, I think Elisabeth Moss has been deserving of this award for a long time and has been robbed several times. On the other, I overall liked Foy’s show better, which allowed me to enjoy her performance more.
In this scenario, I don’t know which one I’d vote for.August 7, 2017 at 5:07 am #1202177203
Claire FoyAugust 7, 2017 at 5:23 am #1202177213
Moss, rather easily. She should win the Emmy, and will. The range and versatility she showed (and needed to show) is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch more apparent than Foy’s, and that’s saying something since Foy was indeed very good, and displayed a bucketload of nuance in her portrayal. I wouldn’t even rank Foy in the top 3, and she still blew my mind with how good she was. Damn, I like this category alot this year.August 7, 2017 at 7:05 am #1202177308
From the nominations, my personal rank is:
1) Elisabeth Moss
2) Keri Russell
3) Evan Rachel Wood
4) Claire Foy
5) Viola Davis
6) Robin WrightAugust 7, 2017 at 10:08 am #1202177496
Both Foy and Moss were spectacular in different ways, however, Moss ran a gamut of motions throughout THT. If this was the old system of voting based solely on tapes, Moss or even Davis would probably take this, but I do predict Moss for the win.
