In my opinion, Veep: Season 4, Louie: Season 5, Transparent: Season 1, The Big Bang Theory: Season 8 are locks. While Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 1 isn’t locked, it does seem safe.

I dunno what with the 7th nominee. There aren’t a lot of contenders, IMO. Silicon Valley: Season 2 could be the 7th nominee, but it got lucky last year, being one of the few nominees for Series not earn any nominations for acting.

Jane the Virgin: Season 1 is too out there, and we rarely see 3 S1s in the lineup, I’m currently doubting Grace and Frankie: Season 1, so I’m just kind out of options to put down for a 7th.

The Comedians has been getting pretty bad reviews overall. 56/100 on Metacritic; so I’d take that out. I still think Crystal will get an Actor nomination, and maybe a Writing/Directing nom, but I don’t see it breaking into Series when other shows have better universal reception.

Right now it’s Silicon Valley, Grace and Frankie is the only question mark at this point. If it’s not good enough for a Series nomination, the lineup will be (in alphabetical order):

    The Big Bang Theory
    Louie
    Modern Family
    Silicon Valley
    Transparent
    Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
    Veep

Please, Silicon Valley is on HBO and it got writing and directing last year.

    ThemeParks4Life is spot on.

I keep mentioning Happyish, but I watched the pilot recently and removed it from my predictions.

Silicon Valley did not get lucky. There is an argument to be made that it is no less than fourth.

I (ridiculously) have Girls  as a placeholder right now, but I could see myself swapping it for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, in which case I would have identical comedy predictions as ThemeParks4Life.

I have Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt over Amazon’s Transparent. I expect Grace and Frankie to do well. High hopes for May 8.

Sillicon Valley didn’t get lucky. It got 5 nominations! Including directing over Goldderby-darling Veep!

Right now I have Grace and Frankie in my 7th spot, but if the show fails to deliver I’ll switch to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In my fantasy, though, The Comeback would have that spot. If only HBO could manage to get their 3 shows in the lineup..

I still think that people are a bit too confident in predicting Transparent. Amazon is untested and we don’t know how certain voters are gonna react to the fact that is has virtually zero laughs. It has critical support but that never helped shows like The Wire or Battlestar Galactica or now The Americans, so that’s not gonna be enough. And the Golden Globe wins mean nothing other than a bit more exposure. I think it’s in the top 10 but it’s on the border in terms of a nomination.

But it is not untested.  Many of the same people who are going to be voting for the Emmys already gave it a DGA Award and three WGA nominations.

I will say either Silicon Valley, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or The Comedians.

Transparent is in, and virtually zero laughs? What?

True, but The Wire won a DGA Award and a WGA Award and look what happened there. Obviously it helps but it doesn’t always directly lead to a series nomination. And with the Emmys making such a big stink this year about shows in the Comedy categories being COMEDIC, I just think there might be some hesitance. I could be wrong, but it’s just a hunch.

I like your point overall, but to be clear, it won WGA and DGA for different seasons.  Its fourth season won WGA and was not nominated for DGA.  Its fifth season was nominated for WGA and won DGA (and was nominated for ACE, just like Transparent) and although it did not get an Emmy nomination, it is worth noting that it did make the top ten and its failure to be nominated can be blamed at least in part on there being fewer slots and tapes being a factor during the nominating phase back then; they submitted their series finale.

My current predictions mirror Themeparks4life also.

I don’t know if it was just me, but I did not think the trailer for Gracie and Frankie was strong at all. Really weak dialogue throughout.
