Usually, when I go searching for “best TV seasons” of all time, I usually get results pertaining to the show in general.
No, one specifically made by critics.
I don’t think it’s something people really think about or find fair to compare.
You can just take the lists of best shows, and identify their best seasons based on reviews? For example, Homeland season 1, Frasier season 2, etc. For some shows though, it’s pretty hard. I would pick season 4 of Mad Men, others would pick 1-3 or even 5. It’s all biased no matter what of course, but the usual best tv lists are good guidelines.

Reason why you can’t find one – who the hell has seen all the episodes of all the seasons of all the TV shows in order to compile a definitive list?
With films, it’s a couple of hours on a film, then you have a decision pretty quickly. With TV, it’s countless hours of viewing. Too much for anyone to do.
Plus, TV is possibly more subjective than film because of the nature of it. More difficult to gain consensus on.
Wait, do you think best films list are made by people who have seen all the movies? Or even 1% of the movies?
