Looking at prediction centers, it seems like this year’s Emmys may have been Viola’s last award nomination for her role of Annalise Keating on HTGAWM.

However, in my opinion it’s a crime if she is not nominated anymore. An absolute crime. Not only is she the glue that holds this show together but she is consistently outstanding every single week. Whether she’s slaying in court or has emotional scenes, she brings her A-Game to every single scene. She transforms into Annalise Keating when she is on screen – in my opinion probably the best written female character on TV – and she shows us every side of that character. And Viola insists that it stays real – when Annalise goes to bed, she takes her wig off, when she feels like eating chips, she does.

I hope the TV Academy as well as SAG AFTRA and the Hollywood Foreign Press and other critics take this to heart and still vote for her. There are many talented actresses out there, but a drama actress category without her is incomplete.

    What do you think?

There are at least 6 more deserving performances in her category.

It’s true that this past Emmy nomination might be her last nomination for any awards show. But I don’t think it has to do with her talent or performances.

The show was never a relevant hit, was never actually that popular, and it was never a “thing”. Even Greys Anatomy which is like 10 years older is more popular than Murder ever was. It’s tiresome, annoying, and dropping in ratings. I wouldn’t even be surprised if this season or the next are the show’s final season. No wonder awards show are over it.

Be happy she won her Emmy, she won 2 SAG Awards and got two Globe nods out of it. With her Oscar moment behind her, this might be the end. But never forget, there are MANY deserving people who don’t even make it half as far as she did with award groups.

Even being one of her biggest fans on this board, I don’t think this topic merits it’s own thread, considering the HTGAWM is alive and active. Anyway, contrary to what some might think, I don’t believe this is her last emmy nomination for the show, and certainly not for awards in general, with several high profile film projects lined up. She wasn’t predicted this year, and look what happened.

The show being a relevant hit is certainly subjective. I don’t care how many seasons Grey’s Anatomy has been on, HTGAWM has developed it’s own fan following and popularity in it’s own right. Viola has made history starring in this show that SHANT and won’t be forgotten. This season and her performance is already shaping up to be one of her best, so I wouldn’t be so quick to count her out. She has and still deserves yet more accolades for the role of Annalise Keating. It’s truly a standout in comparison to what some of her celebrated peers are doing.

Not worried. Viola Davis is a perennial standby at this point.

Viola Davis will and deserves to get nominated for Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe. Those who claim that there are more deserving performances clearly do not watch How To Get Away With Murder. The show is on fire this season.
