If you were an Emmy voter, which of these two would you rather vote for best supporting Actress? Don’t vote for who you think will win, vote for who you want to win.July 22, 2017 at 1:04 pm #1202161897
I went with Wiley. Neither deserve their nominations but Wiley gets to do more towards the end. And Wiley also deserves to be nominated for OITNB. I suspect she has a greater chance of winning because of both of those reasons.July 22, 2017 at 1:34 pm #1202161917
I went with Samira Wiley because Ann Dowd is already going to win one for The Leftovers and I don’t think she needs 2 Emmys in a single year. I also think that these are both completely deserving nominees, even though I still believe Yvonne Strahovski was more deserving than both.July 22, 2017 at 1:43 pm #1202161924
Madeline Brewer as Janine.
But between the two, Wiley. Dowd’s performance is highly overrated.July 22, 2017 at 1:52 pm #1202161930
The one who should have been nominated instead of these two. Now please excuse me…July 22, 2017 at 2:10 pm #1202161934
Wiley. Dowd will become a fixation like her other Martindale.July 22, 2017 at 2:11 pm #1202161935
Dowd easily. A fantastic performance that just needed more material. Wish Strahovski was here instead.July 22, 2017 at 2:23 pm #1202161943
Dowd was slightly better than Wiley IMO. But Strahovski’s performance was my favorite. I really liked Brewer as well.July 22, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1202161958
Dowd, easily. A simply delicious performance. Completely deserving of the nomination. I would have nominated Strahovski instead of Wiley.
Gold Derby TV Awards FYC: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life - Limited Series, Movie/Mini Actress (Lauren Graham), Movie/Mini Supp. Actress (Kelly Bishop)July 22, 2017 at 2:34 pm #1202161964
I wouldn’t nominate them over Yvonne Strahovski and especially Madeline Brewer but out of these two I’d vote for Wiley. Dowd’s character seemed one dimensional to me although I think with better material in season 2 Dowd could do great things with her character.July 22, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1202162000
Dowd because she had more material than Wiley, although it’s a bit too much for both of them to be nominated.

Definitely Dowd.July 22, 2017 at 5:18 pm #1202162062
It’s interesting how far ahead Dowd is in the poll so far given I’m not sure if she would’ve been nominated without the Leftovers (similar to Laurie Metcalf with Horace and Pete last year).
I like her in the show, And I’m happy with the entire drama supporting actress lineup, I’m just surprised she got in over Yvonne and is getting votes over Wiley who gets more to do.July 22, 2017 at 6:58 pm #1202162095
I am surprised so many people are picking Dowd over Wiley. Dowd didn’t have the material that Wiley did even if you thought she was better. Plus Wiley has OITNB in the same category so a vote for her for Handmaid’s Tale is kind of also a vote for OITNB. Dowd has the Leftovers but in a different category and she’s nominated for that.
