Jessica is gone. Sarah, Kathy, and Angela haven’t had much to do. Who else could get in?

Evan Peters has been doing interesting stuff but he never gets in. Gaga? Chloie?

Even though it’s undeserved, I think it’ll garner a lot of nominations including best miniseries because the field is usually so thin. It will probably get in for directing, but definitely not writing as usual for the franchise as it is its biggest flaw in my opinion. I’m sure it will perform very well in the craft categories like last year.

As for acting, I could see Kathy Bates getting in. The material she has had, she’s knocked it out of the park. I thought Chloë Sevigny and Sarah Paulson could get in in the beginning of the season, but they both have slowly been phased out of the show more and more, so I don’t see either of them being nominated, but it’s possible. Paulson will probably get in for American Crime Story if it lives up to its expectations. Denis O’Hare is another standout from this season and is definitely deserving of a nomination, which I think he’ll probably get. Mate Winningham has been great, but has been very under utilized unfortunately. If she had more material, she’d probably get in. Lady Gaga started off very poorly, but has managed to become pretty decent with 12/9’s episode being a strong effort from her. Despite that, I don’t see her getting in and she really doesn’t deserve to. Evan Peters would be very deserving, but as you pointed out, they don’t nominate him. This has been his most transformative role in the franchise, so this is probably his best shot. Angela Basett was great on 12/9’s episode, but again she has been very underused in general. Bomer and Wittrock haven’t done anything awards worthy in my opinion, not that their performances have been bad by any means.

It’ll be interesting. Unfortunately, I feel like this show won’t stop being nominated until it ends unless it really fucks up in the creative arts categories, which is why I think it’s still able to get in for best miniseries despite being a pretty poorly executed production. If it weren’t for the creative arts categories, I don’t think there would be the same passion for it (19 nominations last year I think…WHY?!).

As long as they keep competing in that abomination of a category whose only purpose is to award past movie stars who makes mediocre HBO projects, they will continue to get 15+ nominations every year until the end of their run.

It is both cringeworthy and discreditable for TV Academy that this garbage leads the nominations every year no matter how bad its reviews are and the highest honor something like The Americans (whose also airing on the same network) could have achieved is its one writing nomination after 3 years of running.
They should change that categories title to ”Outstanding Category Fraud” since that’s what it has become.

No matter how repetitive the Emmys were at least that category had been offering something fresh every year, but from now on, be ready to see the same lineup in every damn time.

    -American Crime
    -American Crime Story
    -American Horror Story
    -Fargo
-Scream Queens(Murphy will obviously change his strategy and submit it here once he understands that the show isn’t going anywhere; just like he did with AHS.)
    -True Detective

    D I S G U S T I N G.

(I was so furious about it that I mistakenly upvoted my own post lol. It looks so lame, sorry.)

It’ll be interesting to see who gets in at the Critics Choice Awards later today. (I’m rooting for Sarah and Evan.) But yeah, it’ll be a tough time getting in at the Emmys with way more serious fare, namely FX’s “Fargo” and “OJ,” also in contention.

The Limited series/TV movie category this year wont be as bad as 2015 so I really dont see AHS getting a lot of nominations. The only one I can see getting one is Bates and not because she is great in it but because of her name.

Does anyone have a list of the Limited series/Movies that will premiere next year?

Honestly, as a big AHS-junkie, I can honestly tell you, the only one who deserves to be nominated (and to win) is DENIS O’HARE. That’s all.

Sarah, Angela, Kathy, Finn, Lily, Evan, Mare, and most of the cast WERE UNDERUSED. They didn’t do anything worthy. Like Bates is campaigning in lead? She was there as a significant character for like 2 or 3 episodes? So lame.

Gaga is a great screen presence, but she doesnt deserve to be nominated. And Wes Bentley is just dreadfully broing. Chloe is good playing a dull character, but that’s all.

    This season is annoying.

I’m hoping Fargo, the X-Files, and American Crime knocks AHS out of the acting categories.

Hope Angela Bassett isn’t name checked again…she and Matt Bomer are simply embarassing.

Lady Gaga, Chloe Sevigny and Mare Winningham were solid, but not  nomination whorthy.

Bates, Witrock and especially Paulson were wasted this year.

Denis O’Hare is the only one I could include in a whishlist.

Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates are gonna be nominated with O’Hare probably winning, while Sarah Paulson would be nominated unless she is proposed in the supporting category for ACS (if she is proposed in the lead category for ACS, she would be a double nominee).

As it stands now, the only one who deserves a nomination is Denis O’Hare, as others have said. I think the strength of the Lead Actress field will dictate whether Lady Gaga gets a nomination, but if they namechecked Angela Bassett for her dreadful performance in Freak Show, I don’t see what’s stopping them. Maybe Kathy Bates will get in. I wouldn’t really mind an Evan Peters nomination (that’s a first!). But if Bassett, Paulson, Bomer, Wittrock, Sevigny (blech) and/or Bentley (double blech) get nominations… yikes.

My prediction right now is Bates, Gaga and O’Hare, with an outside shot for Peters, Paulson and Bassett.

Bates & Peters are worthy of a nomination. This truly has been the worst season of AHS. Do better next time, Ryan!

It’s not entirely their fault actually. It’s just that there will never be a year where we would have 24 fully deserving Mini/Movie performances, so name-checking is inevitable after some point. And I’d rather prefer them name-check someone from a show they are watching than ticking off some random past Oscar nominees completely off name recognition. If it weren’t for her; Susan Sarandon or Janet McTeer would have taken her spot. Meh.
And I thought Denis O’Hare’s nomination last year was much worse than Bassett’s. He absolutely didn’t anything.
Name-checking probably happens in every category all the time but it only shows itself in small categories that don’t have any competition. I think you don’t even need more than 40-50 votes to get in those categories.

Unfortunately they will name check and nominate Kathy, Denis (the only one who deserves one) and Angela. Some mothafuckin bullshit.

If two deserve nominations, it’s Bates (the premiere, plus the ep where she and Matt Bomer have their come-to-Jesus talk) and O’Hare (the backstory). Evan Peters would be nice too. Those, so far, are the only deserving nominations. Mmmmaybe Mare Winningham and Finn Wittrock, if they have more to do. Winningham is like Frances Conroy in AHS: Coven — She pops up here and there, but when she’s on screen, she steals everyone’s thunder.

I have no idea at all how Sarah Paulson got a Supporting nom from the Critics this morning. She has been given so little to do in Hotel that I’m convinced her character could have been cut out completely (no fault of her own; she’s an incredible actress, which makes it all the more frustrating she’s been wasted this season, no pun intended).

Denis O’Hare and Evan Peters most certainly I feel deserves a nomination. I wouldn’t be mad if Lady Gaga gets in. If Sarah, Kathy or Angela was in it more I can see them being nominated but I don’t think they are.

Considering I’m the only who likes this season of American Horror Story, I can see a shut-out.

Lady Gaga better not get an Emmy nom for that performance. Denis “Flick of the Wrist” O’Hare is only one deserving of a nom. This is the worst season of 2015.
