During the 71st Golden Globe Awards, Amy Poehler finally won something for playing Leslie Knope on Parks and Rec, and the series also got a surprise nom. The next year, it was shut out completely.

With the series having just wrapped up, do you think it could make a comeback. You know the HFPA will want Poehler back there now that she is not hosting anymore (Fey will probably be there to for Kimmy Schmidt). So do you think there could be some sort of a comeback? And could there be an additional third nomination, maybe an overdue nom for Nick Offerman or a nom for Chris Pratt so they can have a movie star there?

The only way I could see this happening is if the series and/or Poehler wins at the Emmys. Very good point about Pratt though; he likely won’t get a nom for Jurassic World, so by nominating him in Supporting for P&R, it’s a way to get the biggest male movie star on the planet at their ceremony. Plus if Anna Faris gets her first nom for Mom, she too will be a first-time Globe nominee. I could see this happening even if the series and Poehler don’t get in.

    Comedy Series

    – Silicon Valley
    Transparent
    – Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt

    Modern Family
    – Mom

    Comedy Actress
    – Jane Fonda, Grace & Frankie
    – Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt
    – Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
    – Amy Schumer, Inside Amy Schumer
    – Lily Tomlin, Grace & Frankie

    – Anna Faris, Mom
    – Mindy Kaling, The Mindy Project
    – Melissa McCarthy, Mike & Molly
    – Tracee Ellis Ross, Black’ish

A lot of shows that the Globes recognized ended in the middle of the year, like Girls, House of Cards, House of Lies, Nurse Jackie. And Edie Falco returned to the Globes after NJ was shut out for two years in a row, and Parks and Rec is a way more respected show in the industry than Nurse Jackie is.

I don’t see Parks cracking in Series again before Veep does. And by December, it’s going to be long forgotten.

Yeah, but all those shows were hot and new. Parks and rec might be more respected in the industry, but not with the globes. And it wasn´t Nurse Jackie getting the love, it was Edie Falco. She is a globes favorite. She´s won 2 and was nominated for every season of The Sopranos, even long after the show and Gandolfini started getting snubbed.

Unfortunately I think the general buzz of the show will have died down (it already has) and it will be long forgotten by the time Dec/Jan roll around, unless 2 things are in play:

-Nostalgia factor for Poehler and the show
-Emmy wins in a few weeks

It is possible.  Sex & The City was nominated in 2005 after ending in February 2004.

Sex and the City was a HFPA darling and has won 8 Globes throghout its run. I believe this is some kind of record for a TV Show.
Globe voters are not that niche to be fans of underappreaciated Parks and Rec. The show was only nominated once for a random season, and that’s because Poehler had been hosting the show. Period. Don’t give too much credit to those people.
