Personally, I think “The Big Bang Theory” is the new “Third Rock from the Sun.” “Rock” only got nominated for best comedy one year after John Lithgow won best comedy actor, which seemed to pave the way for the show. Now that Parsons won last year, I’m thinking that the show finally gets in this year. Am I nuts?

But beware: “Big Bang” may skew too young for those ole geezer Emmy voters. Sitcoms about young nerdy guy goofballs often get snubbed.

You’re not nuts, but let’s pray to God it gets snubbed.  There are few comedies on television as unfunny as The Big Bang Theory.  If it weren’t for the desperate laugh track, it’d have no laughs at all.

I can see The Big Bang Theory taking up where Two and a Half Men has left off.  The shows seem to have similar appeal to audiences.  I never found 2.5 Men to be funny, but that didn’t stop it from getting nominated.  And since Bang is a more traditional and accessible comedy than shows like Community, Cougar Town, Nurse Jackie, and even Parks and Recreation, I could see it racking up support more easily.

Last year was probably the first (I’m too lazy to research if it’s the first ever) in a long time where no multi cam sitcom was nominated, so it is indeed possible that it may get snubbed.

But ever since Season 2, people have been predicting that TBBT will be nominated for Series. And I came to a conclusion that maybe the over all concept of the show does not appeal to voters. I currently have it number seven on my predictions behind Hot in Cleveland which will probably fare much better than TBBT.

I’ll give a hope thought that it was the fourth season as well of How I Met Your Mother when they got nominated for Comedy Series.

I think it will be nominated. Voters must know that it’s pretty damn good if it took down Two and a Half Men as the #1 comedy on television.

I hope to christ it doesn’t. It’s  so not funny and Jim Parsons and the rest of the cast is so overrated and comparing it to John Lithgow and 3rd Rock from the Sun is a crime.

I think you mean multi-camera series.

I think it really depends on how much the Academy actually likes Parks and Recreation.

I’m assuming the big 4 get in (Glee, Modern Family, The Office & 30 Rock).  I also think there is enough support for Hot in Cleveland for it to get in.  That leaves 1 slot.  I don’t think Raising Hope will get in.  I think The Big C stole much of the talk that Nurse Jackie has received so Nurse Jackie won’t get in.  However, I don’t think The Big C has as much as Nurse Jackie (and Laura Linney is not Edie Falco) had going for it last year so it won’t get in either.  That leaves Parks and Recreation and The Big Bang Theory.  If the critical support for Parks and Rec carries over, Parks and Rec will easily get the last slot.  If it doesn’t, then the last slot is The Big Bang Theory’s.

Well, I think the Big Bang Theory deserves to nominated, especially over Nurse Jackie and The Big C (which I don’t find all that funny, sorry). I agree that Modern Family, The Office and & 30 Rock are in but the fact many people think Glee is a lock too when Big Bang had a far better year, is just wrong. I hope Parks and Recreation, Community and The Big Bang Theory get in over Glee.

Yes, I’m probably a little nuts too!!:-)

The only chance Big Bang had for a nom was in Season 2, which was its strongest (well, strong is somewhat a relative term) season.  This season the show seemed to coast on its ratings success for the most part instead of achieving anything resembling actual quality or humor.
