With Archer, the winner of the 5 previous Best Animated Series out this year, who do you think will take the place? Will it be animation veterans like The Simpsons or South Park, new favourites like Bob’s Burgers or BoJack Horseman or Star Wars: Rebels in order to capitalize on Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

South Ark is more iconic, The Simpsons has a decent episode every once in a blue moon, but I’m convinced Bojack Horseman is the one with the critical hype to beat. Its the one you’re seeing on all the Top 10 lists this year, it just makes so much sense to me, and feels like a lock, but then again anything could happen with these Awards.

Bojack Horseman winning feels like The Americans winning Best Drama Series earlier this year. Plus, I see mixed to average reviews for Star Wars Rebels, and the second season hasn’t been as well-recieved as the first one was. Finally, I think the Netflix thing makes it seem “edgy” and they’ll want to give it an Emmy boost!

BTW, where the f**k is Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and the # best show on ALL OF TELEVISION, Animated or otherwise, Steven Universe!

“sigh” I guess these Critics must not watch that many Animated TV Shows, as if they’re giving Archer 5 freaking Awards in a row (The Emmys called, they said you could maybe do better at spreading the wealth a little) wasn’t evidence enough! I hear Archer is great and all, but you’re seriously kidding yourself if you think there wasn’t a single Animated TV Show that deserved recognition more in ANY of those 5 years.

I think the reason Archer has won every year is because their Awards voting always took place right as the season was airing. The critics are voting for it literally as they’re watching and laughing at it. Extremely convienient timing, that’s what I think it is! 😉

Asking me to pick between the last seasons of Bojack and South Park is so wrong and awful on so many levels. I love them both.

The Gravity Falls snub is especially painful since the show is going off the air and only has one more new episode until it ends which will air next year. I guess they thought it would be on long enough to honour again, but still painful. I guess that stuff like Adventure Time or Steven Universe may be ineligible because they aren’t actually half-hour shows but two 15 minute shows usually. I don’t know. Rick and Morty’s snub is also pretty bad, IMO.

I am not even a fan of Archer (I am of course in the minority here) so all the wins for it have been annoying to me, but I agree that they should spread the wealth, and Archer’s ineligiblity helps to at least give another show a chance. Maybe they’ll learn after this to actually watch other shows and maybe stop giving Archer all the awards.

The worst thing about this list of nominees is that season two of “Rick and Morty” was left off after premiering to near universal acclaim from both critics and fans.

Above all, being the most creative, smart and actually funniest comedy on tv.
