With Veep definitely not airing in this year’s eligibility period, who is going to win Best Comedy Actress?
    Tracee Ellis Ross?
    Fonda or Tomlin?
Is Rachel Borsnahan that much of a force to win at the Emmys too?

I feel like they will give it to someone who has been an also-ran to Julia for the last few years.

That one Kristen Bell fan is going postal when  Rachel Borsnahan inevitably wins the Emmy when KS is even nominated.

I personally hope  Tracee Eliss Ross or Alison Brie wins.

    Seems like it’ll be Brosnahan.

Alison Brie could surprise and maybe Barr and Stone blow us out of the water, but it seems likely to me that Brosnahan already has her name engraved on the Emmy.

Rachel Brosnahan. She would have won even with the tape system because TMMM pilot is like the most Emmy-friendly tape ever.

This is whom I think will get nominated in terms of likelihood:

    Allison Janney
    Lily Tomlin
    Tracee Ellis Ross
    Rachel Brosnahan
    Jane Fonda
    Alison Brie
    Debra Messing

Yeah I am predicting seven nominees. And I first have to watch Maniac before deciding about Emma Stone. This show might be brilliant or another Friends from College. If it’s brilliant then Stone’s in and Alison Brie or/and Debra Messing is out.

    God help us… 🙂

I think with every creative high The Good Place hits with each passing episode as it thunders home (the finale is Thursday), and its great showing in Metacritic’s top 10 TV shows of 2017 (5th) vs. Maisel’s 22nd will at least shame the Emmys into nominating Bell, finally.

She has paid her dues far more than Brosnahan has, and is the co-star on network television’s best show in the eyes of the entertainment media. Another TV Critics Association nomination right before the Emmy noms won’t hurt her chances. Hopefully (but who am I kidding?) the Brosnahan bubble will burst like the dot com bust in the 90’s and Maisel is exposed for the light fluff that it clearly is upon further close examination, with an unknown number of people watching it online.

I am rooting for Tracee Ellis Ross.

Do we know if Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be back in time?

If you go back to its inception, season 1 debuted in March 2015, 2 in April 2016 and 3 last May, a 4th season seems unlikely to make the 2018 Emmy cutoff date.

This sums up the current state of the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series race pretty well. Nice ranking, Hunter!

If Allison Janney wins the Oscar, then she will be nominated for Mom.

I disagree. We have a decent amount of competition and she still can’t even get a SAG nom. She has no passion behind her and is bound to fall out soon enough.

Why do people think Issa Rae has a good chance? Both her show and her acting suck.

Janney got into Lead Actress for the first time for the show last September, in a year when they had seven nominees. It’s unlikely for her to be snubbed after her (possible) Oscar win.
