Another category that might be a victim of vote splitting. If you were an Emmy voter, which of these nominees would you vote for? I am not asking who you think will win, I am asking who you want to win.July 14, 2017 at 4:50 pm #1202152771
Dern, but I loved Woodley too. I don’t think either can win this. I’m not sure Davis or Hoffman can either, so it looks like King has a great chance for 3 in a row. I really hope King wins since AC was criminally snubbed.July 14, 2017 at 4:56 pm #1202152774
Woodley, since I don’t think Dern has done anything that different for her. I could see her and the acting so there’s that.July 14, 2017 at 5:06 pm #1202152777
Dern because I hate category frauds.July 14, 2017 at 5:08 pm #1202152778
I thought Shailene Woodley’s character had a little more gravitas, so I’d personally vote for her.July 14, 2017 at 5:11 pm #1202152781
Both equally strong, but Dern is overdue.July 14, 2017 at 5:13 pm #1202152782
I would vote for Woodley but I think that Dern will win handily. King can’t win 3 in a row, that would be ridiculous, considering she won both in upsets.July 14, 2017 at 5:17 pm #1202152785
Neither made much of an impression on me. Shailene Woodley should have an Oscar for The Spectacular Now though. Voting Dern because Woodley had better material, so she should have been an easy choice with a more dynamic performance.July 14, 2017 at 5:17 pm #1202152786
Even with the deserving nomination, I still think Woodley is a one trick pony and hopefully Emmy voters will look past that and vote for Dern who gave an amazing and legit supporting performanceJuly 14, 2017 at 5:19 pm #1202152789

if she won both without even being the favorite how would it be ridiculous to win a 3rd one, especially since a lot of people thought this was her best season and Pfeiffer is the only other one who won’t split votes?July 14, 2017 at 5:21 pm #1202152791

Umm?! Watch her damn films! The Fault in Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, The Descendants, even Snowden! She’s a brilliant young actress in a worthy nomination!July 14, 2017 at 5:22 pm #1202152792

Not true at all. She has been amazing in the right project. She is definitely not a one trick pony.
Excluding BLL, i mean ive only seen her in secret life, fault in our stars, white blizzard whatever, and the descendants, and she cries in all of them. Just with different hair style/length and clothes. This is still the right step for her to be taken as a serious actress though so kudos to her.July 14, 2017 at 5:28 pm #1202152799
As much as I LOVE Dern in everything and especially Big Little Lies, I am going to say Woodley. Both incredible performances, but Dern was a touch one-dimensional for the majority of the show. I mean that was the personality of her character so I get it, but she’d be just a tiny bit below Woodley, whose character was much more complex and multifaceted.
