We’re looking to add writers to the Gold Derby team who can attend some of the many media events we get invited to in L.A. and NYC — screenings, premieres, receptions, etc.

We need boots on the ground to attend these things plus solid writers who can pen compelling reports. Absolutely required: in-depth knowledge of Emmys and the current TV scene.

Please respond below in this thread if you’re interested.

Hi Tom, I’m very interesting in writing for Gold Derby for any NYC TV and Emmy events! I follow the Emmy Awards very closely every year, and I have an English degree from Fordham – so the writing chops are definitely there 😉

I also used to write a lot of Tony Awards coverage for Gold Derby, so would be more than happy to continue doing that as well once the season kicks off in May.

    Hi Tom

I would be very interested in writing for GoldDerby. I’m located in NYC and have been following your Emmy coverage closely this year. I have previous writing experience, mostly recently for SmashCut Reviews (run by fellow Derbyite Karl Delossantos) as their theatre reviewer and providing episode recaps/reviews for the previous season of The Walking Dead.

Also, last year I contributed some video slugfests for the Tony Awards and I think I can be useful in that department as Tony season quickly approaches. I work in the theatre industry in New York and that realm is my true area of expertise and first hand knowledge. I would love to create articles and videos for the site to expand your theatre/Tonys coverage.

I’d be happy to be a set of eyes and ears in New York. Let me know if you’d like to talk further.

    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Tom,

I am definitely interested in writing for GoldDerby! I live in New York City and have a huge passion for television. I have closely followed the Emmy Awards for years and have made it a priority to be up to date on acclaimed television (in all genres). I am a Fordham University graduate, with a degree in Communication and Media Studies (concentration Television) and currently work in television, in an Editorial and Marketing position. In my spare time, I post on several different television forums about my new and old favorite TV series. Additionally, I also have been an area manager at Comic Con New York (two years in a row).

Please let me know if you need any further information (such as my LinkedIn, Resume, etc.)

And just for fun, my current favorite series are: Game of Thrones, Outlander, Jane the Virgin, The Affair, American Crime Story, How to Get Away With Murder, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Vinyl, Billions, Mr. Robot, Veep, Silicon Valley, and The Americans.

    All the Best,
    Courtney

I don’t live in Los Angeles or NYC, BUT I have an extraordinary knowledge of the Emmys and Oscars, and most Film/Tv Awards in general. Statistics, analysis, episode submission pros and cons, I would do that. Please let me know if you are interested.

Not in NYC or LA but if you ever need someone in Toronto (e.g. TIFF coverage), I would jump at the chance to be of service.

I’m in LA, and can handle the writing part. But I’m not the best person for social galas.

Me too, it sounds like a great opportunity.

Tom, if you ever need someone to help out in Australia let me know.
