SpongeBob SquarePants will officially begin previews on November 6 and open on December 4 at the Palace Theatre. The principal cast members from the original Chicago run will reprise their roles. It’ll be interesting to see what is the bigger box office juggernaut, this or Frozen. http://www.broadway.com/buzz/188751/soak-it-up-spongebob-squarepants-musical-will-officially-land-on-broadway/

    Frozen, no doubt about that.

The new musicals this next season are, apparently, so boring.

There’s The Band’s Visit, which could be the big winner at the Tonys next year.

Bruce Springsteen will play 8 weeks of a “pared-down” version of his concert tour at the Walter Kerr beginning in November. He is scheduled to play five performances a week.

This will be The Boss’s Broadway debut.

Due to the disturbing nature of the show, 1984 will not be admitting audience members under the age of 13. Then again, I doubt many pre-teens are even aware of this show or want to see it. http://www.playbill.com/article/broadways-1984-implements-age-restriction
