    Michael Cera, Lobby Hero
    Ron Cook, The Children
    Andrew Garfield, Angels In America
    Tom Hollander, Travesties
John Lithgow, John Lithgow: Stories By Heart
    Nathan Lane, Angels In America
Joshua Jackson, Children Of A Lesser God
    Keegan-Michael Key, Meteor Shower
John Leguiazamo, Latin History For Morons
Michael Moore, The Terms Of My Surrender
    Steven Pasquale, Junk
    Clive Owen, M. Butterfly
Jamey Parker, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Mark Rylance, Farinelli and the King
    Alan Tudyk, Meteor Shower
    Denzel Washington, The Iceman Cometh

My way too early prediction is that the nominees will be Andrew Garfield, Tom Hollander, Nathan Lane, Jamey Parker and Mark Rylance.

There may be last minute plays that open before the end of April that will change this list, but for now these are the potential nominees.

It should also be interesting to see if Andrew Garfield and Nathan Lane will both end up competing in the same category. When Angels in America originally competed at the Tonys, both parts were eligible in two separate seasons given their opening dates.

When Millennium Approaches competed in 1993, Ron Leibman won Lead Actor in a Play for his performance as Roy Cohn (Lane’s character) while Stephen Spinella won Featured Actor in a Play for his performance as Prior Walter (Garfield’s character). When Perestroika competed the following year, Spinella won Lead Actor in a Play for the same character.

    My predictions atm will be:
    Best Actor in a Play:
    Andrew Garfield, Angels in America
    Nathan Lane, Angels in America
Jamie Parker, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Mark Rylance, Farinelli and the King
    Denzel Washington, The Iceman Cometh

    With Nathan Lane winning.

Mark Rylance, Farinelli and the King
    Denzel Washington, The Iceman Cometh

    With Nathan Lane winning.

I don’t know about that yet. If Harry Potter ends up being as big here as it has in London, Jamie Parker may just end up repeating his victory from last year’s Olivier Awards. Plus, since this is the first time that both parts of Angels in America will be competing in the same Tony season, we don’t know if Garfield and Lane will both be eligible in the same category yet. I could see the producers petitioning them to be eligible in separate categories in order to avoid potential vote-splitting.
