Hopefully there won’t be any backstage tensions this time. I’ve heard how Patinkin’s method acting during The Wild Party made him unbearable, according to Toni Collette.July 26, 2017 at 11:00 am #1202165771
Well, since it’s only for three weeks there shouldn’t be any unbearable issues.
This seems odd to me to do for only three weeks. The show had a box office drop-off in the wake of Groban’s departure, but it certainly seems to be still holding its own and making more than weekly operating costs. Seems like a lot of trouble to do such a big stunt casting thing for so short a time period.July 26, 2017 at 11:04 am #1202165773
It’s also strange how Oak ended up starting his run as Pierre a week later than scheduled, now he’ll be finishing it early. I wonder who could be taking over for Mandy Patinkin after his stint.July 27, 2017 at 11:18 am #1202166694
Brandy Norwood will return to the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago this summer from August 17-31. http://www.broadway.com/buzz/189257/brandy-norwood-will-reprise-her-jazzy-broadway-turn-in-chicago/July 28, 2017 at 1:30 pm #1202167973
Apparently, there’s some drama over casting at The Great Comet…

It shall be interesting to see how much longer the show can last after this.July 28, 2017 at 1:58 pm #1202167990
What a disaster. I’m nervous about the show’s future. Selfishly, I’m annoyed because I was planning to rush the show again when I was in town the 12/13th, which now seems like it will probably be crazy lol.July 30, 2017 at 8:12 am #1202169569
I wonder who will play Pierre now during Mandy Patinkin’s supposed performance dates. This is a PR crisis for the show.August 2, 2017 at 7:26 am #1202172594
Original Kinky Boots stars Stark Sands & Billy Porter will both be returning to the Broadway production from September 26th-January 7th, 2018…
Until then, Andy Kelso will be taking over for Brendon Urie as Charlie Price from August 8th–September 24th while DeLaney Westfall will be taking over for Taylor Louderman as Lauren on August 22nd as Louderman’s next gig will be the upcoming Broadway-Bound production of Mean Girls.

Kinky Boots seems to be taking lessons from Chicago on creative casting to keep the show in the news. They’re doing a great job extending its run.August 2, 2017 at 11:36 am #1202172718
Come From Away star Rodney Hicks sadly had to depart the production due to being diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological condition that leaves people unable to sing. 🙁 http://www.playbill.com/article/actor-rodney-hicks-opens-up-about-come-from-away-departureAugust 2, 2017 at 12:51 pm #1202172795
Brittain Ashford has revealed that she will be returning to The Great Comet after Ingrid Michaelson completes her run in the show, meaning that the producers are looking for a new Pierre to take over for Okieriete Onaodowan…

Newly-minted Tony winner Ben Platt will guest star on the October 5 episode of the reboot of Will & Grace. Oh, how I hope he plays a scene with Megan Mullally.August 15, 2017 at 9:21 am #1202185741
Tony winner Ben Platt will be departing Dear Evan Hansen this fall on November 19th…
No word yet on who could be taking over for him, but it should be interesting to see how the show will continue to do after his departure.
