Not sure which actresses would be up for this, assuming we have to wait for the Tony committee to put forward their placements. But both Nikki James and Cassie Levy have to be in contention for Les Mis right? This was just posted online from last night’s performance, Levy does really well and could be in with a shot of a nomination…:

Courtney Reed for Aladdin will be featured no doubt, but I don’t think she stands a chance at a nomination following the snubs of recent Disney leading ladies Sierra Boggess and Ashley Brown. My money is on Linda Emond who is overdue for a Tony, and she is playing an award-magnet role, so who knows, maybe this is her year.

Does Adriane Lenox have any chance for After Midnight?

She steals the show in a show full of show stopping performances.

Courtney Reed is never going to happen, from the previews of Aladdin she is getting terrible notices. People are saying her singing is awful and the character really is nothing, so she can be checked off.

I would say Adrianne Lenox stands a chance. I think Fantasia will technically be eligible here too.

Here’s who I can come up with:

    Amber Iman, Soul Doctor
    Adrianne Lenox, After Midnight
    Fantasia Barrino, After Midnight
    Kate Baldwin, Big Fish
    Lisa O’Hare, Gentleman’s Guide
    Jane Carr, Gentlemans Guide
    Courtney Reed, Aladdin
    Linda Emond, Cabaret
    Anika Larsen, Beautiful
    Betsy Wolfe, Bullets Over Broadway
    Helene York, Bullets Over Broadway
*Marin Mazzie, Bullets Over Broadway (its still unclear if she willbe lead or featured)
    Nikki M. James, Les Miserables
    Keala Settle, Les Miserables
    Caissie Levy, Les Miserables
Cass Morgan, Bridges of Madison County
    LaChanze, If/Then
    Emerson Steele, Violet
    Lena Hall, Hedwig

Will Rocky’s Margo Seibert be considered Lead or Featured?

My gut intuition is that Marin Mazzie will be considered Lead

Margo would be better to go featured with the tough competition in lead and also she is getting great notices and has a very memorable 11 o’clock number. Depends what the tonys does.

If Marin Mazzie goes Featured for Bullets, she wins.  No doubt.

This early on, it looks like it’ll be Linda Emond or a BULLETS… girl. I think they’ll push Marin in lead… where she’ll face stiff competition, but will ultimately win, in my opinion. BULLETS is going to be a huge hit… I won’t be surprised if its final tally on Tony night is 8+

Reviews for Les Mis have landed. And judging by the reviews, I’d say only Caissie Levy could contend from that production. Nikki James isn’t getting the best reviews. Karimloo is getting all the standouts, but Levy is also receiving her fair share of stand out notices, with special mentions for I Dreamed a Dream and the Finale, having listened to her, I think she’s definitely within a shot for a nomination…

I have a feeling Helene York is going to get the best notices from Bullets Over Broadway. At the moment, I think Linda Emond, Adriane Lenox and Helene York are definite nominees; then it gets complicated, due to whether Marin Mazzie and Margo Seibert are considered Featured or Lead. If either of them are considered Featured, they get nominated in this category, otherwise there is room for Caissie Levy and LaChanze, with Lena Hall the unknown factor in the race…

Im not counting on Margo Seibert being too competitive here. I think Andy Karl will be Rockys only shot at an acting nomination. Keala Settle has also gotten great notices as Madame Thernadier for Les Mis, and she was well liked enough last year to get a nomination for Hands on a Hardbody, which got very little love.

Caissie Levy, Linda Emond, Helene York, LaChanze, Lisa O’Hare, Keala Settle, Lena Hall, Adrianne Lenox. I think the five nominees come from this group of women.  And Mazzie if she is indeed billed as featured.

Does anyone think Lena Hall might get a nomination for Hedwig? I will try to get past my complete dislike for the movie (I’ve never seen the actual show, which I understand is different than the movie? But it must still have that gawd-awful score?) Based on what I have read and heard, sounds like Lena Hall might get one of the nominations in the Featured Actress category?

I just posted about Hedwig on another predictions board, but yes she could. I dont think she will win since this category favors showier performances, but shes amazing in the role. It certainly is the NPH show, so her nomination isnt guaranteed, but she could sneak into the fourth or fifth slot i think.
