Now that the other thread title has been changed here is the actual thread. At this moment I would go with Brian J. Smith in The Glass Menagerie as the winner. Here are the men who have played and are upcoming:

    Samuel Barnett, Richard III
David Cromer, A Raising in the Sun
Billy Crudup, Waiting for Godot/No Man’s Land
    Michael Cumpsty, Machinal
    Padraic Delaney, Cripple of Inishmaan
Shuler Hensley, Waiting for Godot/No Man’s Land
    Peter Maloney, Outside Mullingar
    Michael McKean, All the Way
Jim Norton, Of Mice and Men
Patrick Page, A Time to Kill
    Mark Rylance, Twelfth Night
    Pat Shortt, Cripple of Inishmaan
Brian J. Smith, The Glass Menagerie
    Morgan Spector, Machinal
    Bobby Steggert, Mothers and Sons
    Frederick Weller, Mothers and Sons

If anyone can think of anyone else just add them and I’ll include them. I really could see Smith and all the actors from Glass Menagerie winning which I don’t think has ever happened.

Samuel Barnett for Richard III and Mark Rylance for Twelfth Night are two actors I would add to the list…

I can definitely see Glass Menagerie managing nominations for all four of its actors. The two big question marks that still remain in the play categories are Act One and Casa Valentina. Its currently unclear who will be eligible under lead and featured.  And both productions have playwrights and subject matter which will appeal to Tony voters.

Chuck Cooper could be a player for Act One (assuming Shalhoub and Fontana are both billed as the leads). And Casa Valentina gives its actors the opportunity to don drag and play two personas, which we’ve seen net Tonys in the past. John Cullum, Gabriel Ebert, and Tom McGowan could all contend for that one (and possibly Patrick Page as well depending on billing. Word is its a true ensemble piece and all could be eligible under featured).

    Additional featured players:
Shuler Hensley, Waiting for Godot/No Man’s Land
David Cromer, A Raisin in the Sun
    Frederick Weller, Mothers and Sons
    Bobby Steggert, Mothers and Sons
Jim Norton, Of Mice and Men
    Padraic Delaney, Cripple of Inishmaan
    Pat Shortt, Cripple of Inishmaan
