Seeing the Tony Nominations announced today and seeing some of the snubs like Bette Midler and Alan Cumming, I was wondering about other snubs in previous years. Do any come to mind for you?

One that comes to mind for me is Ann Harada for Avenue Q.

The biggest snub in Tony history (my opinion of course) is Ann Harada not being nominated for Featured Actress in a Musical for Avenue Q – she would have been the biggest lock of the night.

Other glaring snubs from recent years:

-Daniel Radcliffe in Actor in a Musical for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
-Joel Grey in whichever category for which he was eligible for Anything Goes
-Stephanie J. Block in Actress in a Musical for 9 to 5
-Daniel Breaker for Featured Actor in a Musical for Shrek
-Stephanie J. Block (again) in Featured Actress in a Musical for The Boy from Oz
-Roger Bart in Actor in a Musical for Young Frankenstein

I’ll be able to think of more later.

I seem to recall lots of press about Nathan Lane not being nominated for Love! Valour! Compassion! back in 1995.

I agree about Ann being the biggest in recent memory. I also think Bernadette was a huge snub for ITW. LOVE her in that show, and to be honest, i’m not a huge fan of hers.

And also, Daniel Breaker for Shrek. YES!

I don’t know if it was a snub, but Lea Michele wasn’t expected to be nominated at the crowded year of 2007?
