I’m curious to hear some of your opinions. What are some Tony winners for Best Musical that you just didn’t care for at all?
Mine would have to be A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder. I didn’t hate it by any means, I just thought it was way overhyped!
Close call for me among My Fair Lady, Contact and Jersey Boys.

I guess you’ll be avoiding the new revival like how most cats avoid water.
Definitely Contact. I don’t think it really even technically qualifies.
Of course, the controversy over Contact winning was what led the American Theatre Wing to create a new Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event, which has been retired since 2009.
I’ll gladly jump onto the CONTACT train. The back to back to back win of Lion King, Fosse and then Contact was just abysmal…although Lion King at least had the stunning technical aspects.
