I just want to say something. I hear alot of people these days saying that the republican nominee will be betwen Romney or Gingrich or maybe even santorum. Well Santorum and Gingrich are not even on the ballot in 5 states ( 564 delegates ). To be the nominee you need 1,144 delegates out of like 2400 about. So unless Gingrich and Santorum do EXTREMELY well in the future states they have no chance. It is safe to say that it is already a 2 man race between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney might be winning alot of states but guess what........most of it doesn't matter! Mitt Romney does have the most delegates right now..........but what i should say the most delegates counted! you see the delegates in Iowa, Nevada, Maine, Minnesota, and Colorodo haven't even been distributed yet. And to get delegates people need to volunteer and go through a process and stuff. Ron Paul has the majority of the delegates in all 5 of the states. So a candidate can place last and still win the delegates. Lol just wanted to clear that up for some people out there. Romney did win in Florida ( because he has  a billion dollars to spend on ads and campagning ) and he did win some delegates in new hampshire, but honestly in those 5 states ( colorodo minnesota ect... ) he has a VERY LOW delegate count. Anyway what i am trying to say is that people might say that Ron Paul has no chance in winning, but seriously in a couple of months when the delegates will be distributed people will be in shock. Right now Ron Paul is the frontrunner, and believe it or not he has the best chance to beat Obama ( since Ron's only competitor Mitt Romney, is actually not that popualr with the whole nation.

Oh and by the way Ron Paul would have won the maine caucus if they woudn't have canceled Washington county's caucus.

RON PAUL 2012!!!!! :)

Monsanto Guilty: Paul Francois, French Farmer, Poisoned By Biotech Giant's Chemicals

* Case against Monsanto 1st such claim to reach French court
* Monsanto lawyer says "disappointed", envisages appeal
* Pesticide makers see no evidence of major health risk

By Catherine Lagrange and Marion Douet
LYON/PARIS, Feb 13 (Reuters) - A French court on Monday declared U.S. biotech giant Monsanto guilty of chemical poisoning of a French farmer, a judgment that could lend weight to other health claims against pesticides.

In the first such case heard in court in France, grain grower Paul Francois, 47, says he suffered neurological problems including memory loss, headaches and stammering after inhaling Monsanto's Lasso weedkiller in 2004.

He blames the agri-business giant for not providing adequate warnings on the product label.

The ruling was given by a court in Lyon, southeast France, which ordered an expert opinion of Francois's losses to establish the amount of damages.

"It is a historic decision in so far as it is the first time that a (pesticide) maker is found guilty of such a poisoning," François Lafforgue, Francois's lawyer, told Reuters.

Monsanto said it was disappointed by the ruling and would examine whether to appeal the judgment.

"Monsanto always considered that there were not sufficient elements to establish a causal relationship between Paul Francois's symptoms and a potential poisoning," the company's lawyer, Jean-Philippe Delsart, said.

Previous health claims from farmers have foundered because of the difficulty of establishing clear links between illnesses and exposure to pesticides.

Francois and other farmers suffering from illness set up an association last year to make a case that their health problems should be linked to their use of crop protection products.

The agricultural branch of the French social security system says that since 1996, it has gathered farmers' reports of sickness potentially related to pesticides, with about 200 alerts a year.

But only about 47 cases have been recognised as due to pesticides in the past 10 years. Francois, who suffers from neurological problems, obtained work invalidity status only after a court appeal.

LESS INTENSIVE NOW
The Francois case goes back to a period of intensive use of crop-protection chemicals in the European Union. The EU and its member countries have since banned a large number of substances considered dangerous.

Lasso, a pre-emergent soil-applied herbicide that has been used since the 1960s to control grasses and broadleaf weeds in farm fields, was banned in France in 2007 following an EU directive after the product had already been withdrawn in some other countries.

Though it once was a top-selling herbicide, it has gradually lost popularity, and critics say several studies have shown links to a range of health problems.

Monsanto's Roundup is now the dominant herbicide used to kill weeds. The company markets it in conjunction with its biotech herbicide-tolerant "Roundup Ready" crops. The Roundup Ready corn, soybeans, cotton and other crops do not die when sprayed directly with the herbicide, a trait that has made them wildly popular with U.S. farmers.

But farmers are now being encouraged to use more and different kinds of chemicals again as Roundup loses its effectiveness to a rise of "super weeds" that are resistant to Roundup.

And while the risks of pesticide are a generally known and accepted hazard of farming in most places, and farmers are cautioned to take care when handling the chemicals, increased use of pesticides will only cause more harm to human health and the environment, critic say.

"The registration process does not protect against harm. Manufacturers have to be held liable for adverse impacts that occur," said Jay Feldman, director of Beyond Pesticides, a non-profit group focused on reducing pesticide use.

France, the EU's largest agricultural producer, is now targetting a 50 percent reduction in pesticide use between 2008 and 2018, with initial results showing a 4 percent cut in farm and non-farm use in 2008-2010.

The Francois claim may be easier to argue than others because he can pinpoint a specific incident - inhaling the Lasso when cleaning the tank of his crop sprayer - whereas fellow farmers are trying to show accumulated effects from various products.

"It's like lying on a bed of thorns and trying to say which one cut you," said a farmer, who has recovered from prostate cancer and asked not to be named.

The French association of crop protection companies, UIPP, says pesticides are all subject to testing and that any evidence of a cancer risk in humans leads to withdrawal of products from the market.

"I think if we had a major health problem with pesticides, we would have already known about it," Jean-Charles Bocquet, UIPP's managing director, said.

The social security's farming branch this year is due to add Parkinson's disease to its list of conditions related to pesticide use after already recognising some cases of blood cancers and bladder and respiratory problems.

France's health and environment safety agency (ANSES), meanwhile, is conducting a study on farmers' health, with results expected next year.

Thanks Vamp. Monsanto has been voted MOST EVIL COMPANY IN THE WORLD for the twelvth year in a row, by environmental, advocacy, and human rights groups. They've been causing suicides amongst farmers all over the world, have unleashed frankenmosquitos with experimental 'vaccines', poisoned our world with GMO's with the strong assistance of their dough-boy BILL GATES AND THE BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION, and their depopulation agendas. Plus, they're going to release more of these 'mosquitos' in the name of "protecting" us.
Their list of crimes against humanity is uncountable and growing.

Down with them; may they rot in hell for eternity.
I never want to hear another person tell me they've never heard of MONSANTO.

DEPT. OF DON'T LAUGH, IT'S PROBABLY TRUE!

As reported by The Onion:

New Breeding Program Aimed At Keeping Moderate Republicans From Going Extinct

February 13, 2012 | ISSUE 48•07

A rare moderate Republican is safely tranquilized before being brought to his breeding pen.

WASHINGTON—Saying the now critically endangered species of politician is at high risk for complete extinction within the next 10 years, Beltway-area conservationists announced plans Monday for a new captive breeding program designed to save moderate Republicans.

According to members of the Initiative to Protect the Political Middle (IPPM), centrist Republicans, who once freely roamed the nation calling for both economic deregulation and a return to Reagan-era tax rates on the wealthy, are in dire need of protection, having lost large portions of their natural terrain to the highly territorial Evangelical and Tea Party breeds.

"Our new program is designed to isolate the few remaining specimens of moderate Republicans, mate them in captivity, and then safely release these rare and precious creatures back into the electorate," said IPPM’s Cynthia Rollins, who traces the decline of the species to changes in the political climate and rampant, predatory fanaticism. "Within our safe, enclosed habitats, these middle-of-the-road Republican Party members can freely support increased funding for public education and even gay rights without being threatened by the far-right subgenus."

Enlarge ImageA mated pair of centrist GOP politicians in captivity.

Working within a narrow three-election-cycle window to reverse the decline before extinction becomes imminent, political conservationists told reporters they have already begun the arduous process of tracking down members of the elusive breed of sensible, non-reactionary public officeholders, which a generation ago was one of the most plentiful GOP species in existence.

IPPM officials also said that while there is no guarantee they will ever be able to restore the moderate-Republican population to its once-teeming levels, "every effort must be made" to forcibly breed the species and at least keep it alive in the Midwest and Northeast, where its chances for survival remain highest.

"Last week we shot Gov. Mitch Daniels with a tranquilizer dart from a blind we'd set up near the Indiana Capitol, and we plan on mating him very soon with a senator we trapped up in Maine," said IPPM reproductive expert Gabriel Burke, adding that forced breeding of centrist Republicans in captivity is a humane, carefully regulated procedure designed to simulate mating in the wild. "While captive specimens tend to be wary around each other at first, once they sense they're both opponents of labor unions yet also willing to make tough compromises on collective bargaining rights, the sexual ritual begins almost instantly."

Added Burke, "In fact, one of our specimens, Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, has already been mated with five or six other regional lawmakers in the past week alone."

Though hopes for the captive breeding program remain high, many leading political conservationists note the number of optimal habitats for moderate, freethinking Republicans across the country has shrunk drastically, with studies showing the species may never again be able to recover in areas where it has been totally eradicated, such as the South and the GOP caucus in the House of Representatives.

As they continue to search for nonextremist conservatives with the vaguest ability to compromise on social issues like abortion in cases of rape and incest, IPPM officials acknowledged they may be fighting a race against time.

"The most difficult task we have is preserving members of this disappearing breed before the desperate need for votes forces them to begin parroting borderline racist anti-immigration ideologies and accusing their opponents of being socialists," tracker Phil Gandelman said. "We thought we had captured and tagged a truly exemplary specimen a few weeks ago, but when we studied the creature more closely, we realized it was just John McCain."

"The poor little guy was so far gone we had to put him out of his misery," Gandelman added.

Representatives for the IPPM said they hope their current effort will prove more successful than past attempt to propagate moderates by crossbreeding highly liberal and extreme conservative politicians, which ended in tragedy when Vermont senator Bernie Sanders was physically mauled and torn apart by Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS).

Corrected: New Jersey Assembly Passes Gay Marriage Bill; Veto Promised

New Jersey’s Assembly voted 42 to 33 on Thursday to approve a gay marriage bill that could pave the way for New Jersey to join six other states where same-sex couples can today legally wed.

To become law, the bill would have to be signed by Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican who has promised to veto the measure.

CORRECTION: An earlier alert gave an incorrect vote tally. There were 42 in favor of the bill, not 41.

I am in Michigan. I would love for Mitt Romney to lose it. But the party votes statewide nominees (like 2010 gubernatiorial candidate, and eventual winner, Rick Snyder) like some remnant of those northeast Republicans. When the south was Democratic, every Republican nominated to the presidency of the United States hailed from a state that was not among the former confederacy. And, hell, even after realignment came the Bushes, both born in New England! (They were able to claim Texas.)

Only thing encouraging, if one wants Romney not to be the party nominee for 2012, is that Mich.'s last two selections for the Republican nomination (for a non-R incumbent) did not go on to become the general-election candidate: John McCain (2000) and Romney (2008).

If Mitt Romney were to lose Michigan…he's done! And his party establishment will do what they can for him. So, I figure he'll carry the state's primary, this coming Tuesday [Feb. 28], by at least 5 percentage points. And, boy, I am hoping just the opposite. As comedienne and talk-radio's Stephanie Miller, daughter of Barry Goldwater's 1964 vice-presidential running mate William Miller, would say, "Go, Frothy!"

Now that Romney has won Michigan, and we know that the disaster of Santorum winning has been averted, here's a bit from Al-
Jazeera.

Ayn Rand Christianity

"Rick Santorum feels no obligation to set the record straight when someone speaks up at one of his meetings and slanders the president."

On Monday, my old blogmate from Open Left, Mike Lux, asked: "What Bible is Santorum Reading?" Reflecting on Santorum's "phony theology" comment, he wondered if Santorum and other conservatives "are just reading a different Bible entirely than the one I read". Indeed, considering all the evidence, he argued:

"I will go so far as to say that the modern conservative faith is the direct opposite of what the Judeo-Christian Bible teaches: modern conservatives argue that everyone should take what they want and devil take the hindmost, that we are all on our own, and that if you are rich it means that a Darwinian selection process allowed you to succeed, and that you owe nothing to anyone else. Modern conservatives are far more faithful to Ayn Rand, who openly rejected Christianity because of its values of helping the poor and caring for others. Give her credit for one thing: at least she was honest."

Ah yes. Honesty. Back to that, again.

Unlike John McCain in 2008, Rick Santorum feels no obligation to set the record straight when someone speaks up at one of his meetings and slanders the president - a point that CNN's John King asked about recently, after a woman at a Florida town hall said: "I never refer to Obama as 'president' because legally he is not the president. He constantly says that our Constitution is passe and he totally ignores it; as you know he does what he darn well pleases. He is an avowed Muslim."

Santorum's response to this vomiting of lies? "I'm doing my best to try to get him out of the government, right? I am. And you're right about how he uniformly ignores the Constitution."

Not only does Santorum fail to set the record straight - unlike McCain, he's far too much of a moral coward to do that - he actually supports the woman's lying, he agrees with her, even though he's careful not to specifically echo her most incendiary lies.

Here's a little lesson in theology, Mr Santorum, not to mention common sense: You don't have to lie to bear false witness. Just slap a liar on the back and say, "Good job." Even tacit approval makes the lie your own. And when you actually encourage the liar...

I don't know if the priests ever taught you this, Rick. But my mother certainly did. She knew her theology. And she knew her phonies, too.

I find it hard to believe 25-30% voted for this Nimrod. 27% in Michigan and I think 30% in Arizona.

The entire world is watching U.S. politics, and the world is appalled at the poor quality of candidates for Republican leader, except for Ron Paul, of course.

Mitt Romney carried Michigan in 2008 before John McCain won the Republican nomination. Romney's margin of victory: 9.2%.

The Feb. 28, 2012 primary saw Romney win, over Rick Santorum, by just barely over 3%.

Romney is the perceived frontrunner for his party's nomination. He should have won Mich. by more like 13, not 3, percentage points.

Romney was born March 12, 1947, in Detroit, MIchigan. His father George (1907-1995) was elected to the governorship in 1962 and 1966 during presidencies of John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson before working, beginning in 1969, in the presidential adminstration of Richard Nixon (after his first win in 1968).

Michigan Republicans who win statewide recall the old northeast Republicans when it was the Democrats whose presidential base states were in the south.

The delegates in Michigan are two each for the 14 congressional districts. A bonus two for statewide vote carriage.

Latest reports are that Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum will either end up with 16 (Romney) to 14 (Santorum) or a 15 to 15 tie.

This is not much of a win for Romney.

And I sure as hell wouldn't call it a loss for Santorum.

You are not the only one.  Senator Sanctimonious is a nutjob with an unhealthy obsession with what other adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms.
