I too am displeased with the casting of Hathaway as Selina Kyle. I will have to wait and see what she does in the film, but she didn't seem well adapted to the comic counterpart. I think a real actress like Marion Cotillard should have been casted instead for Cat Woman. She would have nailed down that role perfectly, and looks more like her as well.

I see some people predicting Hathaway for a supporting actress Oscar in the 2012 thread...we'll see, but I don't have much faith. If anything I hope Theron in Prometheus is the action-star awards hopeful next year. Shes' playing a villain and we alllll know how good she is at being bad. |

I hope Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway does not steal Christian Bale's thunder like Heath Ledger did. Tom Hardy is the one to watch. After watching those 6 minutes of the "airplay scene" and the tariler, I think Nolan did a great job with directing him. Anne looked nice in the trailer and she could be a surprise as well. I don't get how so many can quickly judge a performance they havent seen yet. Its Christopher Nolan we are talking about. He knows what he's doing. I want Christian to stand out though because, HE IS BATMAN. This could be another $2 billion grossing film. |

"Christian to stand out though because, HE IS BATMAN" Really? Did Batman have a lisp? Perhaps he did. I havent read many of the comics. Christian Bale is the weakest link in this Batman series for me. Almost as bad as his lady costars, who at least did their best. He looks good, provided he doesnt speak. jmho. Batman is suppose to stand out. In "Dark Knight", it was all about the enemies. I hated that idea because Iv'e been a batman fanatic since I was 3. Bale great in my opinion. I hate his voice when he's batman but I still think he was a good choice. |

I've seen this trailer, like a nerd, over 50Xs and I so can't wait. I hope my expectations won't be dashed. But to the convo of Anne Hathaway, I think she'll be fine. There's a sexiness there and the potential for some camp w/her whispers and that god awful costume she has. |

i don't know about that. While i LOVE batman, the villains tend to be equally compelling in part tomany of their backstories: the Joker, Harley Quin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, The Riddler, Scarecrow, etc

'Dark Knight Rises' Dazzles at CinemaCon in Near-Dialogue-Free Preview
Published: April 24, 2012 @ 2:58 pm
By Brent Lang
An extended look at "The Dark Knight Rises" electrified audiences at CinemaCon on Tuesday, carrying with it the promise that director Christopher Nolan is planning an action-heavy conclusion to his epic Batman trilogy. Nolan didn't offer up a trailer, he didn't preview a few scenes from the film or trot out stars to prattle on about how much they enjoyed working on the superhero movie.
Instead, he spliced together a nearly wordless series of shots that showed the caped crusader (Christian Bale) duking it out with Bane (Tom Hardy), tangling with a very sultry Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and once again being called on to save Gotham City from the brink of anarchy. Planes crash, football fields explode and heroes brood, all to great effect. The film hits theaters on July 20. The preview came as Warner Bros. unveiled its upcoming slate to exhibitors -- a presentation that also included sneak peeks at Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and Adam Shankman’s “Rock of Ages.”
The applause that greeted the footage was thunderous, so much so that Warner Bros. might think about using it as a trailer. Also read: 'The Dark Knight Rises': New Trailer Brings Bane Into Sharp, Evil Focus (Video) Nolan said that he thought of the film more like a theatrical event in the classical sense. "It's a live show," Nolan said. "It's a performance ... on July 20 there will be thousands and thousands of these live performances taking place." The Sunne in Splendour; I prefer my Roses White |

Hunger Games. The Avengers. The Dark Knight Rises. Life is freakin' good. Imagine the egg on the Academy's faces when all three get jobbed in the major categories... |

I think they should open up the voting to the general public, like on "American Idol." You can get all your teenage friends in Texas to vote for your favorite!!! |

Wow, 2012 may be the best year for superhero/comic book movies ever (previous best was 2008, with Iron Man, Hulk, Dark Knight, and Hellboy II). Nolan and company look like they're going out with a bang. Best thing is the trailer doesn't appear to spoil the entire movie. I don't know how it's going to end and I'm glad. Can't wait for July 20.

The new trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8evyE9TuYk It looks absolutely EPIC! And IMHO, both Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway look fantastic. I'm glad they fixed Bane's voice issues; he's now perfectly audible while remaining menacing. This and 'Prometheus' are my most anticipated summer films by far. |
