 Was discussing this with my friends awhile ago - and of course Meryl Streep's name came up; then I saw it mentioned today on PerezHilton(ew, lol).  Who do you think would make a good Amelia Bedelia? Could an adaptation of these cheesy books be successful? I think with the right people attached it could be a lovely movie.  Just by past roles -  Emma Thompson maybe.

Amy Adams would be perfect! In fact, she did kind of play an Amelia Bedelia type personality in the Enchanted scenes when she first enters New York.  Those were the highlights of the movie to me, so thinking about it; I think it would be a treat to see her in the role

First of all, I have to say, I LOVE this character. They were some of my favorite books as a child.

I think Emma Thompson is PERFECT for this role.    Literally, perfect. I also think that Meryl Streep would be a decent choice.
