Even though I won't see this in theaters (not a fan of 3d conversions), I may still watch my dvd to check it out again to see it holds up after all this years. I do remember that last time I watched it to be very much fascinated by the directing of it (especially in the "Be Our Guest" scene, which might be one the best things ever in any full length animated Disney film), but not so much the writing - although I do think that being used to watch so many Miyazaki and pixar films might have made me spoiled in that sense.

Still, I hope this at least finds a place with this new generation, based simply on how gorgeous some sequences are.

^It is a gorgeous film, and I have a copy on blu-ray 3D, but I dare not watch it when my man is at home, since he saw the original version (at Grauman's) with his ex, who just happens to be my ex too!  Not a can of worms I care to open.  Does that make sense?  Does anyone care?  LOL

I worked at popular movie theater here and just like when Lion King was released here, I expect sort of the same turn out. W/Lion King it was all about introducing a new generaion to the classics we grew upon. I think of the Disney 3d push, I think the upcoming Little Mermaid and The Lion King will to the top sellers.

I don't think I have seen Beauty and the Best in its entirity ever, so working on the 3D theater this wknd. will be fun.

And I am w/renaton, I don't like 3D either. I have fucked up vision, so I cannot lol. If it is not OTT use of 3D, I can deal and watch w/o the glasses, but I could never wear the glasses and not get a headache afterwards.

I really like Alan Menken's score.

The story holds childhood memories for me as my mom always insisted that beauty is in the inside, not necessarily the outside. This version didnt disappoint.

My problem is not with 3D itself, but with conversing films that weren't supposed to be in 3D, modifying they way the experience of it was originally conceived, and doing it so just to get pricier tickets.

Just got back from work and WHAT A TURN OUT FOR THIS!

Two silly things I got from the movie:
The lady who did the voice over for Belle sounded like she was coming close to 'gasmning, so that made me snicker like a 12 y/o
And there's no way in hell tht Miss Potts gave birth to Chip. So in my mind she was "Big" mama.
